$10 NL HE Full Ring: 99 Flops a set against aggro opponent

I apologize in advance for no stats on villian....only a few orbits at table...my computer has crashed and I am playing on an abbacus (not really but the laptop is so old it probably knew an abbacus)

Both villian and I are full stacked 100 bb (think he maybe had 110bb)

Folded to him in mp and he raised to $0.60....table folds around to me and I just call.

Flop comes AK9 rainbow.
I check
Villian raises to $1.30 (pot)
I raise to 3.90
Villian Shoves
My move???????

I really think I played this ok to here but by checking, I would have been really ticked if he had checked behind. Should I have bet this flop, or just let him hang himself as played?

Thoughts???? Thanks CC'ers

Standard, now snap call his shove while fist-pumping.

Any Ace or King in the villians hand and the hand plays itself. How the money goes in is not a big deal, Betting is fine, checking is fine.

I think hang himself as played. Villain opens with 0.60 (tells me he has something Ax, Kx, pocket pair),
Then he makes a pot sized c-bet, could be his standard play, but after he shoves I put him on Ax, maybe AK? If he has AA or KK so be it, your outta luck.
I'm shoving right back.

Set vs Set is brutal when it happens. Never worry about it. Your 9's should be an instant call of that all in. I'd put him more likely as AK.

In terms of if you played it fine...I like to lead out with a set, especially with an A or K on the board. If they have an Ace, they'll likely fire back. If they don't, you won't get much even if they make a pair on the turn.

the insta-all in by the villain looks more like AK rather than AA or KK because he would have tried to slowplay that a little...but who knows..anything goes on these online sites these days

I don't think OP was questioning whether or not it was a call, he was just asking what the best line was against this particular opponent.

And agreed, super standard against an aggro villian, snap call with a smile :D

ALL IN! The chances of him hitting a set of aces or better is disgusting! Then promptly cheer for your victory!
