Think about it from villain's perspective.
Of course you *could* have a 9, but your range is probably skewed more heavily towards a draw, a bluff, or a weak pair. This is also dependent on your image, but as you say there are only 3 hands between you and villain so there are no reads either way.
If you were in villain's shoes, would you fold to a less than half-pot bet on the turn from an unknown?
The problem here is you are mostly aiming for a fold, and the way you played it will not fold out the type of hands you listed (TPGK-type hands, KK+, or maybe even TT-JJ). If you really had a 9, would you not bet more on the turn to charge draws? Or if you were slowplaying it, let the agressor cbet the turn then chckraise all in on the turn?
