As played I'm kinda meh about calling turn. I see a lot of <3x flop and turn raises from weaker players to see cheap showdowns, but a 3x starts to approach baluga territory.

Bet bigger on the turn though. $2 looks good. So many pairs/wheel draws/FDs/pair+oesds that don't fold.

Had we bet $2 and villain raised I'd be pretty keen on folding though.

Exactly this. It is a much clearer decision if we bet $2 on the turn and he raises, your 1/3 of pot bet makes it a tough decision on the turn, loses value from hands that lose to you and lets draws in cheaper.

Bet bigger there will be all sorts of 9x A2-A4 hands to value town.
As played turn is still a fold even with your small bet. 56,A5,34s all just made it and this guy doesn't look the type to baluga bluff or extract thin value with A9. Any sets he may be slowplaying would be right to raise now the board is more co-ordinated and your small bet may have even induced overpairs to raise (probably not though).

Don't show results, showing villain check the river back tells us alot about his hand strength.
