Why the small re-raise OOP against a loose opponent? I think as played, especially when you check the turn and river on this kind of run out, you have to snap call this.

But I'm not a fan of the pre-flop play.

What size would you make it? More like 4x? To $1?

or is flatting better here?

I tried to take initative and control off him with a hand that's miles ahead of his range. I'll miss the flop 70% of the time and he'll barrel IP with rags most likely. Just felt like making a stand. I like to 3bet suited aces generally.

This is an easy call with trips on the river ... It is easy for a loose villain to shove the river with worse hands or simply as a bluff to take the pot away. :)
