Hello,

Does this play make sense?

CO Villain is probably a normal tag, a bit too aggressive. He has done 6/6 CB, turn CB ¼, WTSD 45, W$WSF 55. He 3bet mostly against late position opens only. RFI BU 2/3. RFI CO 6/15. AFq tot 61, AFq F 70, AFq T 25, AFq R 75, AF F 7

Reason I called pre was that he will be likely to give me profit due aggression if I hit and large win if we both hit. Now I did hit and changed my plan on the fly. This is first time for me to do raise with weakfish top pair (I do it sometimes with second though when I have not that much to lose). Do you agree with the plan to try to take it down OTF?

not sure this is the best hand to play this way preflop with that plan. he's 3:2 favourite with his PFR range vs your hand
http://www.pokerstrategy.com
equity Win Tie
MP2 54.81% 52.75% 2.06% { 66+, A2s+, K6s+, Q8s+, J8s+, T8s+, A7o+, K9o+, QTo+, JTo }
MP3 45.19% 43.13% 2.06% { QdJd }

he's probably going to be playing a bit tighter than that though so maybe 20% PFR from MP

Equity Win Tie
MP2 63.30% 61.97% 1.33% { 66+, A4s+, K8s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, A9o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo }
MP3 36.70% 35.36% 1.33% { Jd9d }

he's going to have lots of combos where you hit a j or 9 and he's going to have a better kicker.

as played , when you raise the flop i think you've gotta raise bigger, how much would you raise a set/ two pair in this situation?

Hmm, 36% is a bit low I guess. Actually just from my head I was guessing 39-43% BU vs CO sounds more reasonable.

Not sure I would raise those here, I mean two pairs are not my range, sets well this flop does not hit anyone except SB with his pairs. My raise size is always the same about 3x, here it's against two players making it stronger looking than normally. The idea was to target air part of MP with equity vs his draws. My hand should read more like what it is, medium pair 66 to TT or flush draw. Not balanced but exploitable play.

If I only call against 3 players the hand this weak might be too hard to play profitable. Now it's quite common that fish will raise with top pair like this, can they be right?

OTF about 35% of the range you gave him, hitted.
