$10 NL HE 6-max: QQ overpair on JJx flop

Hi, this is my first posting here - let me know if I'm not doing it right :)

Not enough hands for stats on villain. A few hands earlier we had similar situation, except he was IP & flop was TTx - he triple barreled with 1/3 pot bets, and showed down JJ. Not sure if that helps at all here since positions are reversed...

Stacks:

* SB with $14.10
* BB with $7.60
* UTG with $12.05
* MP with $15.00
* BTN with $9.70

Bet that flop! Our hand is usually ahead, and often players will peel us with hands like AK/AQ/TT. I probably shove the river as well. At 10NL, I don't ever fold overpairs without clear reads.

Well if you bet and he raises what would you do? If there is a chance that you would fold to a reraise, then a check here seems best to me. If you are calling any reraise, then a bet sounds good to me. In addition, what does he likely hold? If he has AA or KK, he is likely to call most bets you make. So you are throwing those bets away. Only hand he can have that he can incorrectly call your river bet with (so you still win) is 10-10. AK flush draw might have played this far with you, but will not call river. On balance I think check is best. Just too few hands villian can call a river bet with that I still win.

You're probably good, but I wouldn't press your luck here. Just check it down and hope to collect the money already in the pot.

Personally I wouldnt have reraised the turn.

Call yes but reraise? there arent many hands that you beat will also call a reraise so you may be putting money into a pot that you have already lost.

A call is fine because it keeps in hands that you beat. If your opponent is bluffing then as the pot is small he may fire a second bullet, which you also call.

By raising you make it both more expensive and less likely that you will win at showdown.

Agree..

You will get called by 910, any J and AA, KK. And all those hands beat you.

So the question is, will you get called by a worse hand here??
And I think you wont, except for 1010/99 maybe.. But since this are just 2 hands, and you are beat by a lot more.. just check it down!

I wouldn't mind 4betting this for some value preflop.

Like C9 said, you're definitely betting this flop cause it's getting called by a pretty large friggen range typically. That board is unlikely to have connected with many hands, and even the worst players seem to have some concept of this at the lower levels. Over's and mid pairs will probably float at least one bet and if he's bad enough god knows what else he'll float with.
