Villain is really aggressive for 10nl. I would lean towards checking the turn since he'll assume you missed and bet his whole range. But that's just my personal preference.

I think I'd call the river here. Other than 56 or maybe A5, I'm having trouble putting him on a real hand.

Bet more on the turn and river too.

His line doesn't make any sense. Why are you betting so small?

you need to check on street, you must understand that we are not in 2005 no more and it is simply really hard to get 3 streets on value with on overpair.

the only thing that is worst and might call you on riv is AT, all other hands that call you are better then QQ, most of them are sets, 2 pair trips and sometimes slowed played overpairs.

I would suggest to you, fletchy, to stop trying to get 3 streets of value with 1 pair hands vs decent players man. check call 1 street at least, you could bet flop bets turn and pretty much check call river if you really want, but there is no way you are ever good in this spot and betting a 3rd time on the river makes no sense because there are no worst hands that call 3 streets.

I fold and it's not at all close. Expect a fullhouse or perhaps even 5x. Villain has no air isn't going to be double floating his air and even if he flats 67 pre he's spiked a pair for some showdown value. We basically need him to be turning some of his value range into a bluff with a river raise which is next to never going to happen.

I like your betsizing. We don't know enough about villain to know he has Tx in his range and that he will stack it multiway so I'm defo content to keep the pot from inflating so I've the option to fold if he shoves the river.

I agree with a fold.

Bet bigger on the turn! Checking could also be fine if he bets vs missed turn cbet a lot, i do both but theres clear value to be had, cut offs range isn't super tight here especially being the second caller, i'd also bet the river if he called the turn, planning to fold to a raise throughout but being scared of sets is retarded and he would 3bet KK and AA pre like 100%. I'm sure you could size a river bet to get called by JT, JJ, AT,KT,QT type hands.

Forsakenone, why you no like money? what 2 pair hands does he have here? I agree it's hard to get called on the third barrel because we look strong, but even if he can call us with AT then already it's better to bet than be scared of a set here. even if he only calls with JJ and AT half the time he even has these hands and folds the rest it's better than checking because you don't think much worse will call. Not having a go at you personally, just if you cant see clear value here then i guess you're missing value in lots of other spots with over pairs/ top pairs etc. 2005 or not doesn't matter, people call too much, people tell you when you're beat.

Bet much more on the turn, or c/c if you think he's super aggressive.

River seems like a pretty easy fold. You're looking at more value hands than bluffs when you barrel 3 streets and get shoved on at these stakes imho.

Between this hand and another I posted, I have been cure of a habit. It has to do with bet sizing. I dont know when I got into it but noticed in the session I played after reading responses that I hit 50% by rote. Sometimes I bump it up one mouse click to the right - that rounds off to next .10 - and my bet sizing stays similar and small. I think this habit came from my losing a lot of big pots and I got in the habit of just never building big pots. Its on the list.

I do, however, sometimes bet small vs agro villains on purpose to induce aggression. It prolly is useless since I do it (size too small) most of the time anyway, and if villain is paying any attention at all - and has played me a bit, its just my silly normal bet.

The few hands vith guy in this hand I had played so far, he was far more aggressive on earlier streets when he was strong, playing pretty much big hand=big pot. I only have a couple of hands to base this on, however you use what you have. This was actually one river where I did bet size this (the river) on purpose. I still have to think about his range and how I want to size on other streets. OTR my perception of his range was sets - small % due to turn flat, w/ SD, FD board, I think he would mainly not just call here - AK-Ax (x=T not sure how crazy he will get with OC and BD SD). AA-KK very small as I dont think he would play them this way at all, all PP missing the set (weighted 66,88,99), the odd SC that this flop and turn make attractive.

My bets OTF and OTT just "were" and I need to think about that a lot. Its on the list. OTR, I thought he would raise OTT if he had a hand that beats mine. I thought he would do this enough of the time that I decided to bet small to get calls with hands he would fold a bigger raise to - Ax/ x= paired board, PP, and get shoves from missed hands. I was thinking that I was ahead way more than not in this particular hand due to the turn. I actually tanked all my time and called.

So his shove said to me that he thinks:

A: I have the str8, OP, set OR

I have a missed draw or PP<T that missed and I think you will fold to a shove, especially looking at your bet sizing up till this point.

Thoughts?

I felt I was ahead enough of the time to call.

Thoughts:

You are thinking too far in to something that probably isn't going on. River bet isnt especially small, we can't just expect people to make moves on us when we only have seen a couple of hands with them. Unless we have really good evidence that he's really super aggro and we can induce him, for example we've seen him making moves with air at showdown a couple of times. Just a bit FPS really. I dont see how 1/2 pot river will induce anyways really, your bet sizing is small all round but not so small that people will think you are FOS i dont think, just small enough to be missing value. I actually like the river bet sizing if you'd bet bigger on the turn, i think we'll struggle to get called by worse if we basically pot pot pot it whereas on the river if we bet around half pot we can probably easily get looked up by villains with JJ, AT, KTs,QTs,JTs.

Thanks. I always appreciate your posts, especially cause you explain WHY you say what you do a lot. It helps.

My thought process above all happened in 25-30 seconds so wasnt prolly as "deep" IRL. I do need to get my bet sizing in order as a whole. I hear it a lot and am now doing something about it.

Maybe someday I can "Run like Acky"

(How about a version of "Move like Jagger" with "Run like Acky" instead?.....lol
