Ok my question first should i have bet more to protect my hand on the flop. Second the reason this is bugging me so much is after plugging this hand into pokerstove. My hand and his hand range i was 79% to win compared to his 19%, but his range really coordinates with that particular board. hand sample on villian is 131. was just wonderin what u think. i personally felt he had a strong hand when reraise all in when the 6 hit the board. i figured he had 2 pair or a straight. i cant really see him reraise shove on a pure bluff. i think i was beat but was wonderin how u would have played it. i think my mistake was betting unless u see something i dont. so any feedback would be appreciated. thanks aesop

The only thing I'm paying attention to is his AF - which at .7 is virtually the most passive a player can possibly be.

.7 doesn't shove without AQ minimum here, much more likely two pr, set, or a straight like you're saying. Doesn't really matter what his range is (he's playing half his hands, good luck figuring out an appropriate range :D ).

I don't see anything wrong w betting the turn - you're usually ahead there and will get called by worse hands from a passive fish like that.

Hey thanks yeah thats what i thought it was a lil unusal for this particular villain. its good to know that it seems like i made the right play. as far as range i was putting him on 2 pair something like 96 or 56. a set of 5's, or 6's maybe 9's since he is super passive Q's i think he would have 3 bet so highly doubt that hand. AQ and i was leaning more towards like 87s which would have gave him the nuts and thats why he shoved. but to really know i was just guessing on his range there but felt i was totally beat when he reraised me all in.

Something i've had to learn the hard way lately is that when a villain has a large gap between his VPIP/PFR then you just have to believe them when they go shoving and min-raising you on seemingly dry boards, passive villains like this guy just don't do this with anything that TPGK beats here.

I've started to bet pot on the flop against guys like this as well, if he's calling 50c here he's calling 75c so your missing out on value imo, over a large sample those extra 20-30c's add up!

Betting the turns fine though, just bet bet bet til they show strength, he's calling you with weaker Q's JT 8T and loads of other randoms

He had position on you. Why didn't he do this on the river, when he might have collected another bet? and the pot would look better to a jam. It's a call for me im afraid.

okay........then its not

What is somebody that passive doing this with here that we beat with KQ??? Do you really think somebody with 49/13 stats plays his draws like this?? Or plays Qx like this?? They really don't, i've seen villains with the same stats c/c overpairs on 3 streets here!

Standard fold, well played Aesop. You could maybe bet bigger on the first two streets, but your bet sizing is fine. You want your opponent to call with 78, 66, ect., and if you smack the bet pot button he may not. And you're going to be betting the same size when you c-bet.
