You played the hand correctly. If you lost it, it's just a cooler.

So a likely nit CR you on the river and you're getting sick odds to call. Don't you love these spots in poker? His range is going to be pretty tight obviously based on his stats, so it's going to by a lot of AQ small pair type hands. I doubt he's thinking you're committed so he can CR AQ for value on the river. If he was thinking this way, doubt he'd be playing 17/11 w/ 1% 3-bet prelfop.

So you're likely looking at quads or turned boat. Such a small range of hands there, and in real time I probably call, but I'd really be wanting to fold simply because it's just doubtful he's doing it with Qx. :(

This is a full house a majority of the time, and it can be any of them (he possibly doesn't 3bet QQ, hard to say from 278 hands). You still have to call this though since you don't have a reliable enough read on him yet.

Any thoughts on checking back the river here vs a Nit ?
Or would we be missing out on too much value from Qx hands?

I wouldn't be checking the river against this type of player as they haven't come this far in the hand with nothing so what hands will they bet which we are beating, AQ,KQ is about it, everything else I think they check back for a cheap showdown. But by betting I think we are more likely to get called by 88's,99's,10's,AQ,KQ hands.

(im still learning so is my thought process ok here or totally off)

On paired flops where villain calls down 2 streets I pretty much always check back the river. Sure he could have AQ but once check raises the river you can throw that hand out the window imo.

Sorry I didn't look at the hand properly I thought we were first to act and were looking at checking to induce a bet on the river.

Looking at the hand I agree with comment above and I think checking back is probably the right move in this spot, I would end up betting just because we have KK's and then calling the shove and cringing as the cards are revealed
