Villian is 23/20/6 agg. after 1500 hands. I dont have many notes on him as he is a shortstacker who just happened to have a stack when I joined table.

Merge - $0.10 NL - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

SB: $9.90
BB: $33.90
UTG: $4.00
Hero (MP): $13.96
CO: $27.74
BTN: $10.15

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero has K K

fold, Hero raises to $0.35, fold, fold, fold, BB calls $0.25

Flop: ($0.75, 2 players) 6 8 4
BB checks, Hero bets $0.65, BB calls $0.65

Turn: ($2.05, 2 players) Q
BB bets $2.05, Hero calls $2.05

River: ($6.15, 2 players) 4
BB bets $6.15, Hero ?

The turn obviously didn't help any draw he was chasing, so what is he floating flop with OOP with to donk PSB turn and river? Goofy way to play flopped set? Agg factors are 6, 2, and 12 by street.

I call. unless he has pocket 66 or 88 you should win this one. I would put him on AQ, busted spade flush, or he flopped a set.

I think your hand is strong enough to win enough hands but because he has you stacked a raise wont get a better hand to fold, just weak hands to fold. So call it down and get ready to see the Q with a high kicker.

+1 for shoving the river. I'm not sure about raising the turn, since we want to let him keep spewing. But you can't screw up if you ship in the nickels at some point in this hand.

Two reasons for flatting river. IMO. 1) get to see his cards, 2) the only hand you're losing value by flatting the river is AQ, otherwise he's folding anything worse an calling anything better..
Just wondering why people raise the river?

Because there are a max of 10 combos sets (although more likely 7) and 12 combos of AQ and if you dont think he folds AQ to a bet here then its a value raise. By not making this raise your winrate drops.

The only combos of 4s he can have here are 45s and A4s. Both are peels with bottom pair, bluffs the turn and spikes the river but those are off set by KQo which he also views as the nuts at this point

There are also a ton of diamonds in his range that peel the flop (KJd, ATd etc) bet their FD on the turn and then bluff the river.

So he is quite likely to fold but we have to raise for value to be called by AQ and KQ

But if they have a missed FD then what's the point in raising the river just to see a fold. And you're forgetting the Information you receive if u flat. You'll be able to see how he plays sets, FDs and top pair etc.
Maybe that's not as valuable as I think it is... :)

The reason you raise is to get value form AQ and KQ

The reason he might fold is if he has a missed FD.

You will find out anyway.

If he folds he has air... if he bluffs with air he bluffs with missed FDs (air)

He wont fold AQ or KQ

He wont fold a set

This is 10NL people dont make great folds to river minbets

I would do anything but fold river against someone that looks very aggressive.
