I'm going to be completely honest and suggest that you should currently not be playing NLHE. Every action by you in this hand was a large mistake. I don't mean to scold you, but it seems to me that you are missing a lot of elementary knowledge about the game.
Now I am probably one of the weaker, less experienced players that visit this forum. I remember well the times, because they are not in a distant past, that I was playing like you are in this hand. Scared to raise, unable to fold hands that look great preflop, unaware of pot odds
and stack sizes, not planning ahead.
I'm really glad I took a step back, stopped playing, and started studying until I realized the most glaring errors in the way I was thinking about the game. Now that I'm back to playing I still make mistakes all the time, but I'm able to quickly learn from them. And I still get into crappy situations, but a) far less often than before; b) I can analyze the situation much quicker, leaving more time to think about the action to take.
Some options for you I can think of:
- Ignore this post, keep having fun and remain largely dependant on luck. There is nothing really wrong with this, but the fact that you are posting on this forum suggests that you'd like to improve above most of the players you find at these limits.
- Spend some time reading up on the game basics. I'm not suggesting a secluded scholarship until you are a pro, obviously you have to learn by doing, and watching other people play. But the learning process is going to be really costly if you're just going by trial and error.
Lots of literature is available, in books but also thousands of online articles. A fine place to start imo is www.thepokerbank.com/strategy (http://www.thepokerbank.com/strategy)
Newbie-friendly, not too in-depth.
Also check out the Golden Archives on this site.
- If, when inevitably you will have to deal with the mathematics of bet sizing and pot odds
and whatnot, you find yourself losing interest, but you still like the mechanics of calling, betting and raising, switch to Fixed Limit.
Best of luck at any rate.
