I like to punish limpers and when IHaveTheAides the best .05.10 player on Merge just flatted. i knew I could bluff him out of a big pot. That limp raise from playwild was a little disconcerting but I was getting pretty good odds to call. The 1/2 pot lead oop 2 was OBVIOUSLY a C-Bet. Can't just go folding everytime that happens, right?. When he 4bet me all in i knew i might be behind but it was only another $2.54 to call and he could do this with any draw or pair. I sure would. Boy this sure didn't work out the way I planned.:(

Once he limp-reraises preflop, I think the hand is over. But he turns his hand face-up, so I see why you call to bluff him off ace-high boards.

But it's definitely over on the flop when he c-bets. The Jack-high board isn't too bluffable and it's not scary enough to generate a fold. Limp-reraises are usually the three big pairs. The very bottom of his range is pocket jacks, which is now top set.

You're only really calling to hit a pair and just suicide-shove, or a J108 board with a legitimate draw, or an Ace-high board to bluff him off queens or kings (preferably with a gutshot to make the wheel). So on the flop I think just folding is the right play.

You're not suggesting that I should have just folded pre-flop are you? If you just go foldin' every hand you're your dealt pre-flop the blinds will eat you alive! You do realize that a Nine is better than half the cards in the deck don't you?

I pretty clearly said I think just folding is ok, but calling to bluff an ace-high flop or flop a good draw is a good play as well.

Now I'm not sure I understand you. My understanding was that you were going with a plan to bluff him post-flop, meaning you were going to use the board to your advantage to bluff him off a high pocket pair. Are you suggesting 9-high is a value-hand in this spot? You mention fearing you could very well "might be behind" when he 4-bet you all in. Does this mean you hoped your pair outs were alive against AQ or AK specifically? Or that you were literally not behind and were up against a hand like 87s?
