raise pre (88 is a really big hand blind vs. blind), flop bet is good, i'd just bet turn again but if you're going to check, you have to check/raise. there are several draws and made hands he won't fold, and you need to build a pot out of position while you can

but since you did c/c turn, check raising river is fine but make it quite a bit bigger because his bet is tiny compared to the pot size. the double-his-raise 4bet is silly, just shove. you're 4betting because you think you have the best hand and there's no way he'd fold anything he's 3betting you with for an extra .71 cents... he is screaming that he has a hand he won't fold. giving him a chance to just call the $3.80 and save 7 big blinds is costing you value

Three handed, I would have raised with pocket 8s. Your opponent probably would have folded and since he saw the flop without his big blind being raised, you can't complain about his play.

Raising pf would have saved your stack...I know that's a bit results orientated, but once you let him flop a flushdraw, you were going broke on the hand.

8/8 is a good hand. Raise pre-flop. There are six overcards out there that you'll have to fear on the flop.

With only hands containing the 9c, 6/6 or T/T to fear, yeah, you're going broke. Most of the time he'll have a Ac here I think, or has a 6.

I think you should keep opening though. Make him pay for the draws. If he's betting every street (you fail to post is aggression factor) then you can let him keep betting.

But in the end, you're doomed. I'd just shove when he made it $1.90.
