$10 NL HE 6-max: How do you play Aces?

I just sat down at this table and I established a loose image which folds to 3bets. I don't really have any reads on any of these guys because I just got there.

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Hero (MP) ($7)
Button ($10)
SB ($9.80)
BB ($11)
UTG ($13.26)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A

1 fold, Hero bets $0.20, Button raises to $0.70, 2 folds, Hero raises to $1.75, Button calls $1.05

Flop: ($3.65) 9

(2 players)
Hero ???????

How do you get the most value possible out of aces? I don't really get what to do here since I'm always scared holding aces or kings on the flop.

If you just sat down you shouldn't have an image yet.

Also you're stack to pot ratio is less than 2. So you could easily bet the pot here with the intent of shoving the turn pretty much no matter what and calling if he shoves on the flop

also buy in for 100bb's.

You have no reason not to play aggressively your too short to fold here ever and you are likely to get called/shoved on by lots of worse hands.

+1 to what he said. I bet like $1.85, call a shove. Board is so wet that shoving is probably good as well, since your opponent will almost always have *something* to call with, and you've put so much in already, they're usually committed.

Well I saw that only two people posted, so I was going to toss in some feedback of my own....but it looks like they covered it. Sure the board is a little scary, but since you're stack is so low you have to bet 2/3 pot and then call the shove or go all-in on turn no matter what it is.

And yes, I know I just said exactly what they said.

I'm going to say one more thing that was already said.

BUY IN FOR 100BBS ($10) or move down in limits if you can't afford it.

Hi guys,

I'm pretty confident he didn't have 2p and a fd is unlikely. So I am pretty sure I had the winning hand that time. So my question was less on what to do, but how much to value bet to extract maximum $$$ for my aces? What is the maximum he would call with a king/jack ? And that last part in the OP was that I tend to overbet and scare the other player off.

Thanks for the answers so far

Preflop, bet a bit more 3-4BB not 2BB your 4bet after a 2BB bet screams slow played AA/KK

Flop just bet .. SPR is low you are committed theer are lots of draws he could call you with and sometimes he will be holding KJ/J9/99/JJ but you are ahead of most hands that he could have and the SPR is low.

Dont worry about scaring a player off.. look at the flip side, if he has a hand its likely a drawing hand. If you bet too small you leave too much money behind and therefore price him into call.

Under repping you hand leads to getting sucked out on far more often than overrepping.

Its no good putting your exact hand into pokerstove and telling everyone that he made a bad call and got lucky, you have to put in the range of hands he believes you could have. Often this means that the under repped betsize is actually giving him a correct call given your range. Which in turn means that often when you get sucked out on after under repping a hand, you dont get sucked out on you get correctly drawn on given the range of hands you could be holding and therefore you are allowing your opponent to play correctly.

I think we are all saying that the way to get the most $$$$ from him is to bet.

The best way to out money into the pot is to bet. checking is no good, if he had a draw and missed he may fold the turn or whatever. If he has nothing he has nothing.

I don't think anyone here is saying he had 2pair or a flushdraw or whatever. We are pretty much saying that with the hand YOU have and the size of the pot it pretty much does not matter what HE has.

BET. somewhere between 1/2pot-shove. anywhere in that range is good.

So wait, you 4-betted pre-flop, villain calls, you have $5.25 left for your chipstack while the pot size is 3.65. Go all-in on the flop. Only hand that can beat you at this point is QT(very unlikely), pocket 9s, and pocket Jacks, so be it and unlucky you face cooler if they have it, can't do anything about that. I doubt that he has Kings. Anyways, I think pre-flop was played very weak. Should've 2-betted 3-4x the blind, and then when reraised, you can 4-bet it higher to like $2.5. At that point, you're committed and have already gotten maximum value out of your Aces during pre-flop.

BUY IN FOR 100BBS ($10) or move down in limits if you can't afford it.

^^ completely. Starting this year, I always buy-in for 100bb, never less. Only problem with me is, I don't auto-top-up because I like to top it up manually myself to see how much I've lost before refilling. Many good cash game CCers recommend to auto-topoff. Any good reason for this?
