I often play it the same. Nh.
If it's not AK, then let's hope we river a 5 or 6.

Why are we calling with 55 pre vs a 3bet from a short stacker with 50bbs?
Set mine or do you think we are ahead?
If a set mine you should fold, if you think we are ahead you should GII pre.
I just fold pre myself

We dont have the odds to setmine as said above, i also dont think that 55 is good enough here to stackoff, i would probably fold. I would stackoff if i had mp+oesd on flop, i usually do, not sure are we good enough to do the same on turn...

re: Poker & $10 NLHE 6-max: Hero call with middle pair + gutshot against short-stacker
Right, it didn't sink in that he's short. Against a full stack, I call preflop, against a shorty, I fold to the 3-bet.
Off to bed I go.

Don't like the call pre. You aren't even getting 10:1 IO to setmine. Fold preflop to 3b.
However, if you think you are ahead (coin flip), I think it's better to ship PF, but this is obviously high variance.
As played, I guess we are hoping V has some A-high hand? You played the hand in real time, so if you had a read or whatever, and you trust it, fine by me. Even if we float this flop, a whole bunch of turn cards are nasty.
