The fact that he open-raised preflop worries me a little.

I feel like he would check back his whiffed aces because he still has some showdown value with them. So this is either a bluff with KJ/KT/JT or something, or a pocket pair or Q going for value.

I have made this hero call before, as well. I don't think it's a winning call, though. I believe you can safely fold.

River is probably a fold. There aren't really any draws, and I'd expect a flush draw/floats to fire the turn once you check.

Check/call the flop instead of leading. Check the turn, check/call the river. You put yourself in a tough spot on the river by donking the flop. With High card K kicker you're better off keeping the pot small and using it as a bluff catcher.

Edit. Check folding the river wouldn't be a bad option either depending on read.

Well you are calling almost completely in the dark and hoping.
All we know is that he has more than 100bb (points to solid) and he's flatted a 3bet and good sized cbet. On that paired board and low run out it doesn't mean much. He knows you have probably missed that board and he will be calling wide on the flop.
If this was me after you have checked both turn and river I'm betting my JJ TT here for value.
The best you can really hope for is a chop.
Any pair beats you he may even have thought he was bluffing with say 88 or lower and still had the best hand.
People call in position with all sorts of garbage so you never know but against a solid thinking player who only calls 3bets with solid hands it's a fold and here we don't know enough about him and are guessing.

He didn't donk the flop, he simply c-bet.
