I was considering a c/fold on the turn but I had a read on him so decided to get to showdown with a c/fold on river. He goes all in, I tank for a while and decide to make the call solely as a bluff catcher. I put him on maybe a missed heart draw a :confused:set or just air. I felt AJ/KJ would thin value bet the river.

Whats the best line to take in this situation against an aggressive fish?

Bet more on the flop, bet turn, c/fold the river.
Post the opponent's hand only after you get some feedback. Everyone can act smart once they see hole cards.

To call him on the river you really need an extremly good read on him. I know these kind of aggressives fishs too and sometimes they're capable to bluff in these situations. But when you're playing against these kind of players I think it is better to wait for a little bit stronger hands. You don't need to make hero calls with medium pairs when these players will pay you off a few hands later with top pair and a weak kicker when you got TPTK.
I'm ok with check calling the turn but check fold the river.

Yes I agree too, even agro fish needs special read to call river when stack are on the line especially because some of them also value bet Jx here I think. They are used that people call them light and they are overall losing badly ie making wrong decisions all the time.

Without stats, it's hard to know how valid your read is. But if players are bad enough, any sort of move like this is fine.

The thing that would help us determine if this move is bad or not, is a description of why your read was so good.

Finally, statements like this don't make sense. "I put him on maybe a missed heart draw a :confused:set or just air." You can't put your opponent on just 1 hand, he has a range of many hands. How you stack up against that range is what matters. You can say "my opponent likely has a lot of missed draws in his range", but don't ignore the fact that he will play AJ/KJ/QQ and other hands like this.

awful situation, I hate having a pretty bad hand because of the action but a solid hand based on the player.

Anyways, I think the sizing on the flop is good because it is so dry, but if you knew that he was a loose bad player I would probably go for a bigger sizing like 1.2 or 1.3 just because fishes dont seem to care too much about the size.

On the turn I think you have to call, he could be having much worse hands and just trying to win the pot cheap. You are getting really good odds on a call and I think that your hand is good more then 25% of the time. You should know though that when you are calling here you are preparing to fold to a river shove, I dont think that he would shove river with worse and thats why I dont like your river call.

the real problem I am having with this hand is that you are saying that you had a read on him, it would be nice to know what read that is because without that I really cant say if any of your moves was right or wrong, I dont take any read into consideration. But I have called down Donks with much worse just because I have seen them go all-in and bet crazy every street for 10 hands straight and if that is what happend here I dont think that the call was bad.
