UTG checks, Hero bets $2.69, UTG raises to $9.80 and is all-in Hero ?

I only have 22 hands on him so nothing important to note there.
I would say from his VPIP/PFR that he is shaping up to be a reg.
Should i check the turn for pot control, should i call or fold ?
I will keep my thoughts for now but i will explain later what i did and what was my thinking.

question - why is the flop bet that small?

1. Its my standard cbet for 1/2 pot unless i see a reason to make it 2/3, 3/4 or higher.
2. His range is very strong in this spot. I am either far ahead or far behind and there are no draws except AT, AJ and JJ.
If i bet big i only keep in what beats me and AQ. Everything else folds.
So i would like to keep in AJ AT and JJ sometimes if he really calls that here but realistically he should rarely if ever have AT or AJ on the flop or the turn.

This is one of those flops where you can bet your entire range for 40% pot and do great. If we start sizing down/up depending on the strength of our hand we get exploitable so betting small protects our range and gives us a very cheap price on our bluff that is actually going to work often because this smashes our 3b range. We can also play similar in single raised pots when we are PFR.

Now for the turn. Pretty much a simple pot odds spot. What range do you put villain on? What is your equity against that range? What are the pot odds you need? I just don't see how villain can have a bluff here and against his value range we are crushed so I think this is one of the few times we can fold top two in a 3b pot.

You can call here preflop if our opponent is positionally aware and has a solid 3-bet/4-bet game.

The way i thought about it at the time is what combos does he have that beat me and what does he shove that i beat. I am assuming there are no bluffs here because there arent.
Lets say he does this with AQ-6 combos
Everything else AA-1 KK-1 QQ-3 AK-4 and if he plays JTs sometimes thats 4 more. So at the time i thought it was not worth to call against what is shaping up to be a reg so i folded.

Didnt have enough info to make that assumption. Against an unknown id rather raise fold AK and take a note than to flat call.
