I have included villains stats after 59 hands, but when this happened I prob only had about 20 hands on him, so he is pretty much unknown.

This was a big fold but I can't see him making that turn shove without AK, AA, KK, TT, 99 or QJ.

I think I had to bet the turn to know where I was and to stop him bluffing me off my hand. He thought for a long time before shoving.

good fold, tank-shove is the nuts.

do you recognize how superior bet/fold here is to c/c, c/soul-read river?

I didn't realize you were in position at first glance, ignore previous comment.

I usually don't let people pull the double C-R on me. The turn check smells FOS to me after a flop C-R honestly. I think there might be merit in betting the turn but either you're ahead and he is drawing slim to dead or you have 0-2-4 outs. If he was bluffing he'll bluff if you check the turn, he's unlikely to call with worse and if he has you crushed he'll do this.

Yes, I think so, for the reasons I stated in the OP, but I would like to hear your explanation of why it is superior.

They are the more unlikely hands in his range yes, but they should be considered.

you dont think k10, AQ, AJ are in his range?
surely you can completely discount AA as there is only one combo that beats you, and 3 of KK

Maybe KT, not AQ or AJ though. I dont see him shoving 200bb with Top pair

I just really dont see AA and KK flatting and then double check raising you.
and you only seem to put in hands that beat you, you are basically saying that he will checkraise flop with 99 on AK10 board? but wouldnt with top pair + gutshot combo?

AA and KK are unlikely as I said, but I don't think you should completely discount them, people do some weird plays sometimes.

A flop check-raise with 99 would be a bluff that hits on the turn. A flop check raise with AQ or AJ is possible BUT not the turn shove. When I was talking about the ranges I was talking about the ranges when we get to the turn shove, not the flop ranges. And even though AQ would be top pair nice kicker and gutshot draw, IMO he wouldn't shove that, so I discounted it.

I want to check the turn. If you feel like his flop c/r was a bluff then he's not going to call a bet on the turn with air. Checking allows him to bluff river
