Just wanted some thoughts on this hand.

Villian was weird, he was open limping a little bit, raising a lot and generally super aggressive postflop but i'd only seem him for around 30 hands. So no solid reads here obv.

I think the hand should have ended on the turn, after he calls the flop i'm really not sure what to do, i don't really like my turn bet as aggro players tend to either fold flop or they are going to put money in (in my opinion).

So would check/folding be weak in this spot? It's not like he can have too much, but it saves me from weird spots like this one when i get min-raised on the turn and i have absolutely no idea what to do. I obviously also hate my turn call, i was honestly just calling hoping he would just give up on the river, which isn't a very good plan at all (it's not even a plan).

Anyways, just a hand i would like some thoughts on.:D

I pretty much agree with what you wrote. Check/fold turn. Betting is pretty spewy and when you get raised you should hurt yourself folding so fast.

Yah, i have an issue with folding, not sure why but i think everyone is full of shit way too often. In tournaments that is somewhat true in a lot of cases, but in cash i've found myself just acting as an ATM to guys who just play straightforward.

I don't hate the turn bet so much IF you think he's unlikely to bluff raise his draws. I do hate calling the turn raise though. Just throwing $$s away there.

Also note that while I don't hate the turn bet that turn is a really shitty card to barrel. We basically never have anything on that board and because we're OOP an aggressive opponent who knows this is going to make our lives hell.

Yeah i agree, The main reason i didn't like my bet was that exact fact, that turn either changes nothing, reassures him if he has some kind of pair, i doubt he will give up with his draws. Since i had no solid reads i assume he would jsut call with his draws, but like you mention, even if he's thinking a little, he would realise were not very strong here overall.

So while i think c/f is the only real option we have here, what type of cards would you think are good barrelling cards in this situation? I can't think of many that don't give us the best hand anyways, like aces, kings jacks etc.

Oh, if i thought he would play draws super aggro, can i call this river knowing he's either got the nuts or nothing(or how would i go about working that out, just out of curiousity or in a hypothetical situation)?

Or do you think players at these low levels will overvalue too many hands for that to even be an option?

I don't think you played this great but having gotten to the river, I feel like calling.

I don't think even the most aggro idiot shoves a double paired board without a Queen here. Fold the river as played.

After i called the turn without thinking, i was reeealy tempted to call the river. I still can't shake the feeling that it was possibly a bluff, but it's pretty expensive to find out anyways and as mentioned, shouldn't have even gotten to a river.

Thanks all
