Calling preflop here is neat, awesome, great! :D
If the player in the MP had folded to the SB's Squeeze, we should be also folding our pocket pairs (88), but when MPcalls, we have a pretty sweet price, plus position, not only to setmine, but 88 is a hand with a lot of postflop potential and we can be fighting for SDs, Two Pairs, etc.
We have to pay $ 0.90 for a pot of $ 3.70, so it is a very nice call.
Postflop we could be calling OTF if we have a little more equity, but the flop wasn't so good for our range, instead of the SB's good pricing OTF.

In situations like this I am calling the Squeeze preflop with all of the pocket pairs, including 22, 33, etc.

This is a situation I am often curious about. Aballinamion, what stakes do you play?

Roughly speaking we need to make 10x our investment to make a small profit with sets.

MP's open is a perfect time to call- sets will work well against the UTG + HJ tight ranges, as really we need them to have a good hand for our implied odds.

SB 3bets to 1.20. We have to call .90 so that means we have to make at least $9 if we hit!

We will have a little help on the way since the pot is already so big. We can subtract that from the price...
$9 - $3.70 = $5.30

Can you make $5.30 from this hand if you hit? It's probably 2 streets of value in this hand. If the answer is yes, since you are closing the action, then mathematically its a call.

Generally, set mining in a 3 bet pot vs 1 opponent is not great, but once there are 2 opponents in the hand, your price to hit your set (about 7.5:1 against hitting your set) improves dramatically, AND there is a higher likelihood that one of the opponents will end up with a strong, but 2nd best hand to you, thus improving your implied odds.

i never considere 10 to one, because there are some players that 3bet very louse and is hard to stack them because they rangue misses a lot, i considere 10 to 1 when is a very tigh player, but iff they guy is louse them i rather call with 18 to 20.
