Ax, JJs+ is in his range. I don't think he re-raises with 25 or 57 pre. Maybe but you have most of his range beat, I'm raising on the river.

What are the villain's stats?

yeah..no matter what I'm getting my chips in.What are villians stats? This will make it much easier to answer imo.

I mean, how can we give him credit for any sort of weird straight here? Does he have a tendency to 3bet the most crappiest of hands pre?

The only thing possibly that makes sense which you can losing too here is AA which is more likely than say, him 3betting the most ridic of hands like 5,7 or 2,5.

It's more likely JJ/QQ/KK here, unless he's trying to trap with AA.Nothing else makes sense.

Hard to say with out any reads. Hes unlikely to call you down with under pair, his check call indicates he probably doesn't have an ace are really strong. I don't think he has ak,aq, given the action, more likely p-AA or under pair. The lead out on river could just be a protection bet, so he can only risk $2 avoiding a big bet and can more comfortably fold if he got raised. I don't see him calling a jam here unless he has two pair or better. No way he has a straight unless he is a total spazz. The straight on board would not effect my play here. I just call.

You don't give stats on villain, but assuming unknown or the average 10nl player...

1) Bet more on flop. (at least half-pot)

2) Jam river.

In general, don't play sets at these stakes conservatively unless you have an extremely compelling reason to, ie, 4+ to flush/open straight on board or something like that.

You beat 3 worse sets, any two pair hands, random TPGK hands, and TT+ that all have a good chance of calling your river shove. You lose to random one-gappers that probably don't 3bet pre or AA. You have like 80% equity, so get it in, fist pump, make a note on the player if you got cold-decked.

why are we betting the flop?

Versus an unknown we cbet because we can fold out weaker pairs or charge random pretty hands like KTs,KJ,KQ etc. which may still be 3bet pre. If we know villain won't fold based on stats/reads, then we don't bet.

If we know villain is a passive calling station with a VPIP of like 40% or higher, we can comfortably bet for value on this flop with 88.
