Guys and gals here's a hand that i'd like some feed back on. Again I don't have a hud so bare with me
: )

10 nl 6 hands

Hero stack 103bb
Villain stack 240bb
Only had about 20-25 hands in villain but would consider them tight passive.

Villain SB
Hero BB

Hero dealt 98spades. Table folds to SB who raises 3bb.
Hero raises to 9bb
Villain calls

Flop 10 J 4

SB check
BB 14bb
SB calls

Turn 7

SB checks
BB checks

River A

SB checks
BB bets 38bb
SB raises all in.

Hero????

Whats my play and how's my bet sizing. And quite frankly how well/poorly did I play the hand?

Thanks in advance.

Why aren't you betting the turn? There's no reason to not be betting there unless you hate money. :)

River bet sizing is a little large for the range of hands we want to call. As played, fold the river. I just can't see someone at 10NL bluffing here, or someone tight / passive jamming the river w/ 2 pair or sets. He's just c/cing 98.59% of the time, or betting himself. AA mayyybe, but that hand doesn't make much sense based on how he played it. It sucks, but nothing else but KQ makes sense unless he's bluffing a busted spade draw, and it's unlikely that's happening imho.

Oh balls lol. Ya I knew I should have bet the turn on this one. Would another bet around 3/4 pot have been good here or should I have bet a bit more? I should have mentioned there was a flush draw as well on the turn (spades). Or would a larger bet have been a better option? Maybe pot size?

Thanks John.

Yah i cant c suits either.

Bet the turn always matters esp if worse hands will call. Its lost value otherwise

Hey I play NL10,6max as well and here is my opinion about that hand:

For sure I would bet the turn too, just cuz of value, and if there is a flush draw as u said, I wanna win money everytime the flush draw doesn`t come true.

But as played.
I would , most of the time, call the river, only against a very tight player I would fold(and to know that I need why more then 25 hands vs villain)

So why would I call, ur bet on the flop could be a try to steal the pot, and ur check on the turn makes it even more ``obv.`` that u really tryed to steal the pot.
And in my opinion ur 34bb bet into a 46bb Pot on the river does look like one last try to steal this pot. And if I would be villian I might shove a Top Twopair (like AJ/AT) and if he has KQ, so he has it.
But on NL10 must of the players are betting if they have the action first on the river, not risking the chance that u check behind.
