I did a small raise on the turn because I didn't want him to find a fold and was hoping that once a non-diamond river came he would call all in because of pot odds.

Yep. Either raise the turn larger, or just 3-bet the flop. Low flushes are quite vulnerable, since pairing the board or another diamond will make you less enthusiastic about stacking off. That's like half the deck.

Your current hand strength doesn't matter. That's like saying 22 is ahead of AK. What matters is your pot equity.

Your equity is huge with 2 overs, a nutgut and FD, but your implied odds are actually pretty low, because most of your hits are scary cards, and 8s/7s are of dubious value. There's a case for flatting because you have position, and vs. an EP open it might be best, but here i'd just look to shovel money in.

I would probably have to stack off with 8 high though, even if it is a flush draw, I doubt he would fold to a shove.
The problem is that your draw's implied odds aren't that great. Diamonds make flushes seem obvious, the Ad and sixes put straights on the board. There just aren't many cards that complete your draw that will make your opponent willing to get his chips in as well.

And Baudib, stop being all moody & 'tarded with your turn raising silliness.

Ok that does seem like the best line now that you explained the bad implied odds, thanks.

either 3b the flop with the intention of stacking off or raise turn all in.
