$10 NL HE 6-max: AK preflop

--------------------
HAND #1
--------------------

party poker, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
Hand History Converter by Stoxpoker

CO: $17.35 (173.5 bb)
BTN: $5.75 (57.5 bb)
SB: $4.25 (42.5 bb)
BB: $7.15 (71.5 bb)
UTG: $4 (40 bb)
Hero (MP): $10.45 (104.5 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is MP with Kc As
UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.40, CO folds, BTN raises to $1, 2 folds, Hero ???

Don't have much of a read on the villain but I dont know if I should call, shove or give up the hand OOP. I really dont think giving it up is the way to go and playing OOP could be difficult. Is shoving here reasonable or should I just call and play fit/fold after flop?

This kinda of hand is super villain depended and if your readless u just have to assume villain is your standard type at this level.
When i played 10nl most players didnt 3bet that much, the games where usualy very passive prf so i just asume villain has AA/KK here since that seemed to be all alot of of 10nl players 3bet.

If we where IP calling could be a option but OOP it just sucks to hard imo.
If we have seen villain 3bet light or have a read he is aggro i have no problem with 4betting/geting in here but with out that this is a fold for me.

You either have to re-raise or fold I think. Its too tricky to play this OOP on the flop for me.

Personally I'd consider re-raising only if he was agressive and had made similar moves before with marginal hands.

His 3bet range is AA,AK,KK,QQ,JJ and maybe 1010-88. If hes agressive he could make this move with with KQs,AQ,AQs, and even hands as weak as KJs.

It depends on your reads tbh...so if hes the agressive type thats always raising pots then reraise enough that would commit you to a shove on the flop and if hes tight then throw it away.

In this situation you can just call his raise and wait for a flop.He can got any pocket pair 77-AA.If you hit A or K then push if you not hit the board then fold.
Other solution is to push all in.He is maybe just one of those player who puts pressure on you with strong bluffs.Party Poker is full of that guys.

Im with you on this one (in FR anyway AA/KK/AK.. without any further info) is their most likely 3-bet range.

You have to see a larger 3-bet % before doing anything different than fold here. People are just so weak-tight with their 3-bets that AK isnt all that good against it.

I don't like jamming, because of the narrowness of most people's 3bet ranges at micros. With 57 blind effective stacks, I like just flatting here.

Folding is criminal imo, it's $0.60 more.

I'd flat his 3bet, cutting loose any board that I don't hit.

The guy has like 57bb, I really don't think he's just doing this with AA/KK. I really don't think shoving here is bad, he'll turn up with bunch of stuff we have crushed a lot. Meh maybe it is bad I dunno

I think a shove here is an ok play. It is possible but fairly unlikely that villian has AA or KK. I think it is most likely he has QQ or JJ here, so a call is a decent option too. If a Q or J comes on the flop, I would fold to a bet and check behind, if not I open value bet or check behind. Kind of a tricky situation, in which you may be best off to fold.

I get 3bet by people with a lot of bizarre stuff, AJ, AQ, 1010,99 KQs, KQo... the list goes on I would 4bet and put him to the test as that is certain to define his hand, obviously you are more comfortable cutting it loose when he shoves after your 4bet.
