Did I butcher this hand? - on FT Rush, no reads, except villain is sitting short stacked. Seems to me this bonehead is incompetent (lolz) but I should still fold river or no?

Bet that flop, if he c/r's the flop you can either smooth call or fold. If you call then check the turn.

That flop is dry as a bone, if he checked it then you should snatch that up - if you get resistance then let it go.

EDIT - Correction!

You should 4bet that pre-flop, no reason to be coy with AK on the button. Its probably better than whatever crappy hand he has anyway.

definite 4bet pre to 1.50, half pot cbet, half pot on the turn and if he raises call as he'll be all in leaving about $2 to call

thanks guys - looks like 4-betting pre is the advice here given in position against a short stacker with AKo. And yeah flop was so dry. Mistake i think was giving the guy too much credit. His 3bet sizing sort of threw me, but it shouldn't have.

It's a thin read, but when you see someone playing a short stack, it's more likely than not that he's, if not a complete fish, at least below average. All the more reason to 4bet; he's more likely than average to have already made or to make a poor play.

Cheers Arjonius - yeah it's thin, but enough to go on in these spots i guess.
