Obviously we have the best hand. I never imagined he would 5-bet/fold so I just stuck it in. Curious as to whether you would flat the 5-bet and GII postflop?

6bet shove, wp, I'd only call if I had the info that he's capable of 5bet bluffing like that.

Wow, Stars must be so different than Carbon...
We never see that kind of action.
Usually 3B fold at 4N....

With stack sizes you should be 4-betting larger here. You lost a lot of value. As played, since he's acting first I'd allow him to make the biggest mistake and call to hope he bet/calls. You 6-bet shove and he can fold some hands.

What were your reads on the other player?

My opinion is that if he wasn't 3-4 betting light, then you can put him on a really strong hand so I think in that case the 6 bet shove is good because if he's not willing to put his money in preflop, then he probably won't do it postflop.

Ih he was 3-4 betting light, then in that case I prefer to just flat call that 5 bet and let him lead postflop.

Of course, this could change depending on what were your reads on the other player.

Except OP is over 160bbs deep. Changes things a bit, and someone might donk 5 bet JJ/QQ but fold to a shove. But they will almost always bet the flop with those hands.

The easiest way to think about this is, if he has KK you are almost always stacking him on the flop or turn any ways. He may not always stack off pre with AK, but he can catch one of those two cards or c-bet. And if they have QQ/JJ, they will also c-bet most flops or stack off. Finally if he is totally donking around, he will always fold to the shove, but he might catch a piece of the flop and c-bet or stack off. Having position helps a lot when someone has initiative.
