I really wasn't sure if TT/JJ would even be in his range. Don't those hands usually 3bet preflop?
The villain ended up showing up with J9s (he flopped a straight) and I really questioned whether I could have gotten out of this or not.
I was concerned about check-calling the turn for 2 reasons:
1) It showed weakness and would allow the villain to bluff me off my hand. I generally prefer to take the lead in a hand, rather than going into passive mode.
2) There were so many horrible river cards that I didn't want to see.
That was my logic for check-shoving the turn. I'm not sure if it was correct though.
