Yes i understand the A9 reason, but player 3 begins to raise preflop.
Flop he check, and gives player 6 the change to steal...
So why be afraid for a A9?? player 6 is even dealer, so dont trust his blue eyes

checked turn incase they had A9 and shoved if I led out

lol don't worry you should always check to the aggressor, on the turn i think i'd put in a 'tester raise' basically just finding out if we're good, it'll usually kill the hand but even if he floats we have outs to improve. You played it good though nice job!

Small sample, but the guy looks pretty laggy. I'd lead the turn a lot of times, but in this case I think a c/c is fine. Only reason you're CR the turn is for value. I don't think you have enough info to do this yet, so as played it's fine.

My preference would be to raise the flop. This is about as good a flop you can get with 88 without catching a set. Calling just sets you up for more difficult decisions on the turn and river. It let's him catch up cheaply and with control of the betting. There are a lot of cards that force you to continue playing the hand passively and put you in a tough spot to continue calling. At this point, I am happy to win a small pot rather than risk losing because I failed to be aggressive when I had the best hand. Just my thoughts.

I agree completely even though you are OOP if you would of bet the flop you would got more information, and been in a better position on the turn if he called.
