that is such a dumb check on the flop you should be cbetting close to your whole range and this hand doesn't totally crush the deck

fold to the overbet without reads

The check on the flop wasn't that bad, it is pretty deceptive, there aren't many cards on the turn which you can be scared of, and you can induce some bluffs on the turn. Checking back can be useful if you've been passive the past few hands.

pretty tricky hand here tbh... I'd probably re-raise turn since there are many river cards you don't want to see, and your opponent can call with worse two pair, or maybe even shove with a flush draw.

On the river, it's pretty read dependent. If your opponent has been pretty aggro, it's a snap, while if it's the first time he's bet bet over a 300 game sample you should fold. If you don't have info on that, you might be able to learn something (if your site allows it) by checking the number of table which he is playing, what kind of rakeback status he is, etc.

FWIW, stop indicating if you won or lost (especially in thread title). Simply state the hand, and streets. Don't give results.

Why on earth would you check the flop?

As played, fold river.

I posted 2 posts at the same time, I didnt know I should leave out the spoilers, but I will do that from now on.

Because it was a very dry flop. I mean, against which hands should I have defended? I don't see any. And by checking I was hoping he would bet since there was an Ace and he might try to scare me.

Yeah I hear you man.

However, you just realize, c-betting all flops is fairly standard.

Villains will just call and float with nothing to see if you will continue. They will call with bottom pair. They will call with PPs also.

Plus you smashed the flop, so why wait to get money in there? Villains will usually call the flop. Even if villain folds, you won the hand, and you tried to get value.

And you had blockers anyways, villain is not going to bet your hand for you.

C-bet most times. Don't slow play anything unless you flop a straight flush, quads, or the nut FH.

If you had missed the flop, would you check? Maybe so...

I c-bet most times HU, even if I missed. 2/3 of the time, they miss too.
