Hi,

I wonder if I played this correctly, no stats on villain.

I'm always hesitant to be the guy who cold 4-bet with ak (even if suited). Being oop sucks as usual, not sure how to play this river, torn between value betting (but would worse call me...) or inducing bluffs, I would call anytime here as little beats me... Thx!

Stacks:
UTG - UTG ($11.17)
MP - MP ($15.07)
CO - CO ($12.03)
BTN - BTN ($12.36)
SB - SB ($11.94)
BB - Hero ($15.07)

Preflop: ($0.15, 6 players) Hero is BB with Ks As
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.25, SB raises to $0.80, Hero calls $0.70, BTN calls $0.55

Flop: 2c Ad Js ($2.40, 3 players - BTN: $11.56, SB: $11.14, Hero: $14.27)
SB bets $1.19, Hero calls $1.19, BTN calls $1.19

Turn: Kd ($5.97, 3 players - BTN: $10.37, SB: $9.95, Hero: $13.08)
SB checks, Hero bets $2.85, BTN calls $2.85, 1 fold

River: 5c ($11.67, 2 players - BTN: $7.52, Hero: $10.23)
Hero checks, BTN bets $7.52 (all-in), Hero calls $7.52

Total Pot: $26.71

Though one. I would deffinantly cold 4B though, both BTN and SB could have way wors, I play at 10NL as well and my 3B from SB vs BTN is wide just because BTN is so wide. Are you planing on calling with AA / KK as well? Probably the only way to make the AK call make sense and I dont like that stratergy.

Anyways, as played I would value bet river as well. Your hand is really strong for being in this situation, logicly the only stronger hand you can have is JJ ( I think you would 3Bet AA / KK). He could call you down with AJ or maybe AQ dependet on what player he is ( he might even have A2s here, he is getting great odds pre). I think those hands also is the biggest part of his range and because if you check it he might check back AQ so you might lose value ( there are almost no bluffs in his range). JJ is also part of his range but if you are calling an all-in shove anyways why not get value from AQ?

Now when you decide to check here it comes down to math. He could have JJ or AJ (22? Unlikely) and I think that your call is correct.

If ha had any other hand then those I have mentioned I would mark him as a fish :)

He is a fish, I'll tell you later but his line doesn't make any sense...!

I realized I should have bet this river just after checking it, sometimes in the heat of the action you don't take the right decisions, I had lost 2 stacks to sets (one set over set which is always upsetting...) in a short time and got the feeling I was running into jacks yet again.

I totaly understand that, happends to everyone. But they are kind of the best misstakes because they are so easy to solve, review your hands and learn to think clearly even though pressure and bad beats!
But I absolutely understand what you are saying, getting KK vs AA twice in a row and all of a sudden when you get dealt KK you get sad instead of happy and are no longer happy to 4Bet it. I am sure everyone is having this problem even though some will lie about it :)

You can 4 bet preflop. After that, its played fine. You still beat some value hands on the river. If you didn't hit the K on turn, I would maybe bet turn and fold river.

Generally speaking I think you should 4bet from the BB. (If your not gonna 4bet AKs against a button open and small blind 3bet WHAT are you going to 4bet?)

That being said, as played I think Check call check check check call is a good line.

Did you sadly run into kings?
