I don't have the exact hand history, so I'll try to reproduce it. Villain seems pretty solid.

============================
Hero = $20
Villain = $16

Hero has :7h4: :7c4:

Preflop
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.30, Villain calls OTB, Big blind calls.

Potsize = $0.95

Flop

:2h4: :4c4: :5s4:

BB checks. Hero bets $0.75. Villain calls $0.75, BB folds.

Potsize = $2.45

Turn

:2h4: :4c4: :5s4: :2c4:

Hero...

============================

What's our plan for the hand here? A lone 3 has a straight draw, so I'm hesitant to give a free card. But I'm not exactly comfortable with my hand either.

So this hand doesn't seem to be generating a lot of discussion. A few questions, and then my turn action:

1) Do you think this turn card is a good or a bad thing? It puts me ahead of 54, and for the most part is a blank. It hits A2 & maybe 23, but how many hands does the button call with that have a 2 in it?

2) This seems like a BA/WB spot, except we're on the turn. Just about every hand that hits this flop also has some sort of draw to go with it. Here's villain's likely calling range on the flop:

equity
Hand 0: 54% { 7c7h }
Hand 1: 46% { TT-22, A6s-A2s, 75s, 65s, 65o, 54o, 43o }

So is there much value in a turn bet?

Anyways, being the bet fiend that I am, I bet out:

============================
Hero = $20
Villain = $16

Hero has :7h4: :7c4:

Preflop
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.30, Villain calls OTB, Big blind calls.

Potsize = $0.95

Flop

:2h4: :4c4: :5s4:

BB checks. Hero bets $0.75. Villain calls $0.75, BB folds.

Potsize = $2.45

Turn

:2h4: :4c4: :5s4: :2c4:

Hero bets 2$. Villain raises to $4. Hero....

Potodds on call = 3.2:1

I would bet it again, $2. Villain is most likely just floating what looks like a harmless flop and a standard C-bet. You know that if you check here you'll be bet into anyway, so keep control of the hand.

I agree with Jilly. You could easily be c-betting any over cards. Maybe Ace/rag, and he's putting you a test.

I'd try to get to a showdown cheap.

I misread what Jill wrote. I thought she just meant call. Raising another $2 is a no-no as he'll be priced in with any o'l junk and it doesn't close betting.

I don't know what his stupid minimum re-raise means. It would be nice to have seen how he's re-raised before.

He could be doing this with just about anything.

I'd probably call and see a turn.

With the stacks being so deep I think I check/call this turn for pot control.
You certainly don't want to go broke with this hand and you don't want to get reraised big on the turn when you have decent showdown value.

Once he reraises you however your hand becomes pretty marginal
