I thought you could look at it yourself and see why you screwed it up?

the board is very very draw heavy why just call and let him have the lead in the hand? You are letting him control the pot and the turn completes pretty much everything but you have no clue about what he could have. The turn completes all the things he would be leading with on flop KQ, AJ, KJ etc?


river is a horrible card.

If you're going to check/raise the turn then make it a real raise, not $0.60 in a $2.80 pot. I don't think it makes a difference in saving you here because with AJ -KJ- QJ he's likely calling anyway at these stakes, but that's just it, you're losing money all the times you don't get outdrawn (the majority) vs losing a bit more those few times you do (like here).

I agree with Brian on the flop, its very draw heavy so you should lead out strongly on it.

As played I think I'm folding here or maybe call down lightly, we're beating only AT/KT which I don't think he has, QQ he might have but I think, unless he's a rock, he would have given more action on the turn when you raised.

We've got to bet that flop. We've got several draws out there - straights and the flush - and we've got to protect our hand. We also want value from QJ/KJ/AJ type hands, as well as some info as to where we stand. Lead the flop and lead the turn, and take it from there.

As played, I think we should be check-folding to any significant bet, and probably calling if he gives us good odds. He's been playing very weak, but could have a huge range of hands - AT/Jx/QK/TT/55/who knows. We played it just as weak on the flop, and the turn ch-r doesn't make sense to me.

Make your standard c-bet on flop, especially if you've been c-betting a lot lately: check/calling here looks suspicious (weak or very strong) to any observant opponent and doesn't allow us to extract any more value by doing so from hands that will bet here (flush draws, TPTK, TPGK): ie. there's no point in hiding our hand from someone who has cold called our raise, he already knows we have something. Plus, if we have developped a pattern of c-betting, our hand is disguised anyway.

I don't dislike the turn c/r all that much after c/calling, but I'd prefer a much heftier raise, since we'll get called by worse hands than if we had just donked, and for a lot more: we have to cut down our opponents pot odds a lot more since anyone with a J and a draw (wether straight or flush) has excellent chances of drawing out on us. That 9h opens up a world of possibilities for hands that might outdraw on you on the river. I bet here pretty much always for pot control and to not give a free card. I refer to reads if raised.

That Jh is really one, if not the worse card in the deck for us. Backdoor flushes have filled, trips, etc. I c/fold a lot here, maybe put out a blocking bet (1/3 pot) and fold to a raise, but I'm pretty sure we're next to never ahead here so c/f is the likelier option.

the only hand he could have that you beat is a missed club draw or maybe 9,8. Blocking bet or check/fold or call if he bets really small.
