I really have to know about this, I read alot on here, and Everyone seems to agree that AK is a very strong hand and as such AK should be treated as a very strong hand. Now all I really would like to know is did I over play this AK. I really don't think I did, but would like other ppls input on this hand. As for Villian in this hand, I really believed he was weak, no if ans or butts about this. I mean his betting to me did'nt look like a monster hand, his weak raise preflop, plus his weaker raise against my raise just said he either wanted to ship it in because A) He had a monster, or B) He wanted me to believe he had a monster, so I could fold my hand! That's the only thing I can figure out for this hand:confused: .

Any input as to if I really over played this at all or not would be appreciated.

If your wondering about the limp, it's because I really wanted to trap someone with it, and have been doing this move on a constant basises have done, this move with Ace, Kings, and Queens, its not the best approach, but it actually works for concealing my hand strength, up untill the last moment.

Hi,

I guess it really depends on your opponents and your position how to play AK.
Let's take a look on how MrNiceGuy82 played his hand.
Seems like he's rather a loose player, at least in this situation.
That means your strategy to set a trap was quite a good idea.
Now, I'm not saying it was a horrible mistake to push it all-in after that 5.50$ raise. But how about just calling?
On the flop you can still continue trapping him.
(And a good advice: I know it's kind of hard, but sometimes you can save money by folding AK.)
In the end, I would say you didn't do anything wrong
you just sucked out on the river. That's bad luck...
Sometimes, I really get a bit angry on this
because it seems like that bad players (why did he call with K10? - he's not pot-commited -) are getting paid on the river even though they played poorly.

Just raise preflop and get it in vs someone thats terrible enough to be getting KT aipf. I don't ever open limp at 6max or at FR for that matter and I hate limp/raising unless u do it with not only your monsters but as a bluff sometimes. Its just so obvious when someone limp/raises that they have a big hand.

As for stacking AK preflop at 6max its pretty standard, especially in CO/Button and blind wars. However, when I was playing 25NL, I noticed that people are not as likely to be 3betting light and probably no one is 4betting light so I'm less happy about stacking AK preflop at 25NL. People play so terribly postflop at 25NL, especially in 3bet pots, that I almost prefer flatting AK (especially in position) and playing a pot postflop against most players. However, if someone at the table is willing to get all sorts of junk in preflop, by all means jam your AK.

Thx everyone for the input, It's not even really a frustrating thing that I lost, it's the fact that I did'nt even get the "Respect", That I felt I should have been given. I did this move only Like I stated (With only monster hands),so I mean I'm figuring ppl to atleast be somewhat attentative, but guess not!

Villian btw ended up leaving the table right afterwards I just buddy listed his ass and next time, hopefully things should be different.

once again thx all
