(I put stakes as 5c/10c in game info as they didn't have 4c/8c)

___Hero calls

I'm wondering if this call here is profitable? I'm getting nearly 10:1 pot odds, which seems pretty good to me, but nearly any card improves him to better than me, unless he's paired a hole card.

Villian is typical weak player at these limits, calls when he shouldn't on later streets.

Also, is the way I played this hand alright? I bet 5th as I'm ahead, but again, nearly any card and my opponents would improve.

Thanks.

Given the passive line villain has taken on 4th/5th/6th it seems unlikely that he's waited until now to bluff and he's hardly likely to be value betting with worse so even with the enticing odds I think it's safe to assume we're behind and fold on 7th.

My Razz is a bit too rusty to comment much on the rest of the hand.

You can re-bang 3rd if you think it will get you heads up. But since it probably won't (lol 5c/10c Razz) flatting's best.

I'm almost always calling the river here, because villain knows you had queen high on 6th. Therefore, when you don't improve, he can often take the pot with a bet, which is way better than the odds he's getting on his bluff.

However, at these stakes, a fold is probably okay, as players play pretty straightforward (and he might not be looking at your board). Just don't make a habit of auto-folding these spots. And for God's sake, don't use the logic "I have queen high, so I fold" like the guy in post #2 suggests.

If you've ever seen him show a bluff I'd call...really, probably a bad spot to fold to anyone.

Thanks for the feedback. I decided that he had to be bluffing, coz' I can't imagine him betting for value there, with me having a queen high. And given that I bet the last 2 streets he'd have to figure I'm betting here with any cards, and he could then re-raise for value.

It did end up being a bluff, and I felt pretty good winning that pot, but I wanted to check and make sure I didn't make an absolutely horrendous call.

@post number 2: I bet 5th street wanting a fold, but even if he calls I'm still ahead. Same reasoning for 6th.

NH.

just looking at this, I'd probably bet 4th, too. A lot of razz players will autofold once they pair on 4th and obviously we're ahead and have better odds HU than multiway.

Just to clarify, folding 7th for one bet when we've got any kind of hand with showdown value is something I wouldn't normally advocate in any stud game - I just figured from the action in this particular hand that a bluff would make no sense and villain would have to be betting for value. I was wrong on that count I guess

7 year old post... sad that you have to go back that far to find a razz hand.

PS - Hi Skold!
