Do you make this call? Do you re-raise? Or fold? The player in question was not really loose but not passive either. Played some weak hands out of position. I figured to have his range crushed here, so what do i do?

I know not to get attached to top pair top kicker, and this one took me the full extra 30 seconds to decide on, but here is the info. This player was playing loosely, and in my notes i had already pegged him as a weak/overly aggressive player. He had raised another player earlier about 10x's the pot and turned over garbage when called. I thought about it, and I figured that more than likely he had a K and was betting it hard. I thought a long time about 22 or 44, but it didn't seem likely as he usually re-raised with pp's (from earlier in the game) Can I make this call based on reads alone? Based strictly on pot odds I am getting poor at best, but I really feel like I have him here based on his play. Suggestions? -Thanks

Hand #1: Calling and shoving are both fine. If he's a very tight 3-bettor then calling is probably better. But if you feel you crush his range then POOOOOOSSSSHHHH. EDIT - Didn't see stack sizes. Get all in.

Can I make this call based on reads alone?
Reads can turn just about any non-standard play into the best play. I don't mind calling his weird shove based on reads.

Btw, your raise on the flop in hand #2 is a bit too small.

Also, why are you buying in so deep? 250bb's deep is a lot tougher to play than 100. I'd either move up to the 5$ NL tables or just buy in for 2$. Playing 250bb's deep as a new player is tough.

1st hand raise him AI, youve got to play agressive with these short stacks and if you just call hes only got like 50c behind which is pointless, and theyll be calling with a much wider range.

Second hand is pretty opponent based. With a very LAGGY maniac like you describe and at this level im pretty happy to stack. Youll be looking with at hands like KJ KQ a good enough percentage of times to make this profitable. Sometimes he'll have the goods and youll have to chalk it up to a read-based play and move on. Also id raise more PF, the guys at this level will call a 10-12c bet so put it out there. Against a nit im folding that that day btw.

Edit: c9 beat me. I played 2nl 250bbs deep but i was literally just nut-peddaling

Max buy in for me c9h13no3. I like playing with more money better. It makes me feel like I don't have to double up at the table to compete

What you said just makes no sense.

EDIT - What do you mean "Double up to compete"? You're just trying to win money, not "compete" with people for biggest stack. If playing 50 blinds deep wins you the most money, do that. Just pick the most profitable way to play, and play accordingly.

I get all in on both hands.

In the first one, the villain's stack size is too small not to - you could be flipping against a pair, ahead of an unpaired hand or dominating a weaker ace. If you shove and villain folds it isn't a horrible outcome either, so raise enough to put them all in.

In the second one, with your read TPTK is probably good most of the time and I'd be happy enough to get it in.

I said that because I don't like buying in with $2. I've tried it before and I felt like the way I play didn't work because my chips were seen as a much smaller amount than everyone else's at the table. Max buyin of $5 works for me better.

Isn't that a good thing? People will call you down with worse hands, which is kinda what we want at this level.
