This is just for you Omaha guys. I also raised preflop, just to make Captain Zig Zag emo ;).

Everyone's the average absolutely horrible players that you'd expect in a $0.50/$1.00 HORSE game. No indication that any of these players actually know what they're doing.

Hand #55258177-17928 at Leipsic ($.50/$1 Omaha 8/b)

Hero is dealt: :2s4: :jc4: :3c4: :ah4:

Pre-flop:

2 calls, Hero raises to $1, 5 callers.

Flop (board: :6d4: :8c4: :9h4:), Potsize = $6.00

2 checks, honeyshot bets $.50, hadenuf calls, Hero calls, 2 callers, ozdoc raises to $1, 5 players call.

Turn (board: :6d4: :8c4: :9h4: :10c4:): Potsize = $12.00

SF___1 checks. ozdoc bets $1. honeyshot calls.
hadenuf calls. Hero ????

Do I raise here and set off a possible raise war, knocking people out of the pot? Or do I have such strong scoop potential that narrowing this down between me & oz is worth it?

I wouldn't raise here as someone probably has made a straight with those cards on board, and you are still drawing heavily for both high and low, so I'd just try and hope I catch either the low or the high on the river, but you have to remember that you are still drawing and could easily miss the high, the low or both if the river brings something like the Kd or 9h etc. I would only raise here if I had already made the nut low or made a flush on the turn.

But I've gotta have at least 20% equity in the pot right? And with 6 players calling bets, that means I have a positive expectation if everyone calls my raise...

Assuming I have 9 outs to a scoop (if my flush is good), and about 20 outs to the nut low, I've got pretty good odds to hit on the river, right? It doesn't matter if I'm on the draw or not, its my equity in the pot that counts.

If I had the nut flush draw, I'd probably raise without hesitation.

But you're outs are reduced with so many people in the pot, I think you do have enough odds to call it down, but I'd be suspicious that with 5 callers, someone else has A2 and you'll be quartered. In O8, I tend to want fewer players to a pot, that's why I only play 6 max, even though you have a lot of equity, you may be drawing to only a quarter of the low and drawing to the high.

As I said, it's worth a call, but not a raise, only a quarter of the deck left gives you a high, and about a third, maybe half (I'm not counting the cards right now) gives you the low.

I know people say that in O8, draws are good, but sometimes people overestimate their draws, by betting, you'd be adding more money to the pot that odds are already gives someone a straight. Flush draws are the worst, I rarely get flushes in O8.

I don't know, maybe someone else can give you some better advice, but that's what I'd do, I've had too many scoop draws fail to get me either pot before.

Generally you want more players in the pot correct? Since its 6-way, even if I get quartered, I still profit... And if an A hits, I almost have to have the only nut low.

Playing for half is a lot more profitable (especially in limit) when the pots are mega-multiway. Hence why I usually don't do a lot of raising preflop in omaha unless there's limpers already in, or if I'm trying to steal position or something.
