I hate playing at the .01/.02 tables, raises dont mean squat to most of the players at these tables.I have caught more bad beats at these than any other tables.I honestly cannot play at this level lol.It is very hard to push anyone out of a pot.

Do not question your play. You made the right decision to make a stand in both instances, They just got lucky. These players always lose there money in the end, it just sucks when they take yours and then give it to someone else.

goff is right, i mean think about it, you literally are playing for pennies (for reference, image at your kitchen table right now and you have 6 rolls of pennies vs your buddies)

people dont even start to take the game seriously until at least nl10 imo

that said, if you can afford to reload, try your luck there, even if it is a big portion of your online roll

i am an advocate that your br isnt only what is in your account online, but that it is all money that you have set aside for only poker

when you start to think of it this way, you can get out of the micros faster, which btw will take hundreds and hundreds of hours if you follow proper br management and only have a few dollars online

obv only move up when you can beat the level you are at, but if you feel that you have a grasp on the game, try moving up

i only starting having decent results at nl10 and since starting to do 8 or 10 tables at nl25 i am so so so much happier with myself each day
you still find aggrodonks there, but with a good database you will find yourself in a race with the other regs to see who busts them first at nl25 (opposite of nl2, where everyone is an aggrodonk)

It is up to the "poker gods" in the A-K situation but the K-K preflop is, as we know a better situation, for you. The table stakes has a lot to do with you calls and how many callers you get. I myself would push in both situations. Just have to do a little more praying to the "poker gods" and over the long run you will be on the upper side of the money. Keep Smilin.:)

You make it sound like this is a bad thing. One reason I love 2nl is because of players like these. Who wants to push players like these off of their hands? Think about it? You have KK, they have a weaker hand like J3 or something. Now, do you shove to get because you want them to fold or do you want them to call? If they're on a flush draw, do you shove because you want them to fold or want them to call? You obviously want the do call, I hope.

As for OP, you played hand right. Just got unlucky, it happens.

In my experience with this level, (no deposit freerolling to build a bankroll) you're best move is not moving in preflop most of the time except premium pairs.

A lot of money can be made with Ax suited, small pockets, etc, limping, and calling raises, then paying .02 to draw, then watching as someone pays off huge bets when you hit. As far as AK goes I dont like pushing preflop with it at these levels because its much easier to outplay the opponents post flop.

I like seeing boards at these levels simply because its easier to outplay your opponent then to possibly race (With AK) and take away your advantage of being a better player.

with AK it might be better to push on the flop rather than pf. you got 2 callers on your pf push, something you don't want to happen.

I miss 2NL, sooo much fun
AK isn't quite as strong, QQ/JJ both beat AK in nl2 becuase there's so many all ins preflop
Just push in with these high pairs and hope they don't get lucky like against your kowboys
