Doe's anybody plan out their poker week..

For example cash games Mon-Thr Tourneys at the w/ends with a day off somewhere. Or is it completely random, just log on and see what takes your fancy.

The reason i'm asking is that as i put more effort into my game i seem to be falling into a pattern of what games i play and when i play them.

PLAN, what is there to plan? Work 8:30 - 5, logged on to poker by 5:30 play play play, think about sleeping come 1am, log off poker by 2-3am and sleep for 4-5 hours repeat. Thas the monday - friday plan, and weekend just play till i NEED to sleep, wake up play more. Great plan right?

Haha, obv this is only because currently my family (wife & pooch) are still back home and I am away working so besides work all I do is play poker, could be just freerolls or could be grinding on stt's as of lately. I just cannot get enough, I'm a CPA (certified poker addict) I think lol.

lol, yeah i guess sorta have been all over the place. trying to find specifically what i want to grind for the long term (at least right now). Kind of setling on stt's, scatter mtt here and there I'm sure but yeah been all over the place trying to find where I think I can grind to start making some $$$ from this rigged OLP thing haha (j/k on the rigged obviously).

I do have a plan, officially going to be grinding the sht out of stt's when I return from vacation in the new year. Hopefully rockin PT4 and testing out SNGWIZ in its trail and looking forward to crushing hundreds and thousands of stt's :D

I recommend sngsolver, or icmizer.

I use icmizer, but the trial/free version is more limited, so sngsolver might work better for you. Either would be better than wiz though.

sngwiz is really the only one i had heard of, havn't really done much research into the sng tools but plan too over xmas and will likely trail any ones that make sense to trail before making any purchase. Thanks for the additional options to look at.

I don't really plan on things, I consider myself a recreational player who works so I play when I have the opportunity. I generally play the same live tournaments however. I know a lot of people believe that certain hours of online poker are "more juicy" but I actually haven't seen trends to support that. I tend to see my biggest wins on week day mornings, when common knowledge would tell you that late night on the weekends would be the best time to grind.

No problem :)

Wiz is fairly dated when it comes to icm programs, but it can still be a decent place to start if you haven't used this type of program before.

Icmizer/sngsolver take things to a different level with more features. Sngsolver has something called "predictive simulation" that attempts to account for future "what if" scenarios. Icmizer doesn't have it just yet, but it's a feature they announced as upcoming. And, that's why icmizer is probably my favorite right now; they continually update the software and add new features.

ah cool, sounds like i gots some research to do :D.

I take it you do some sng/stt grinding yourself? I have been trying to rekindle a monthly stt/sng thread like once existed but seemed to lose interest. Just something similar to the cash game monthly threads where we can lay out goals for the month and chat about well pretty much anything obviously but strategy wise or hand analysis etc.

for mtts the weekends, or three days a week at nights (turbo time structure to finish fast), problem is when i make a deep run then i go to bed at 3 or 4 am, obviuosly it feels good, but then next day i don´t play but rest, because need time recover

weekends by the other hand, are better because you can start at noon and make a deep run 8when happens) and be more focus since i plan days before

haha, oddly enough it was only the last two days I realized carbon had a sng leaderboard lol. Had a look at it and was like wtf they must be playing HT lol, because its a biweekly thing and in like 2 days or something the leaders had almost 300 pts on the low board and there was one with almost 600 pts on the mid board.

I also realized they no longer have the 11cent HT games which is a boo because if I planned to moved into HT I think such a low bi would be a great place to gain some experience but now its 10x more expensive to gain the experience i guess haha.

I try to plan which tourneys I play ahead of time, just to be sure I can be there. Very often I will just log on when I have a couple hours to kill and play a cash table or two.

Sure. There are fix tournaments I play every week. Plus there are MTTs I know I will play weeks later and I dont want to forget them. :)
