I have noticed that a lot of the "good" players in the game tend to stick to either cash OR tourney's (i know they do both but i'm talking for the most part).

One week i play like a demon at the tourney tables and suck at the cash tables the next it's the other way about.

Do you consider yourself a cash or tourney player and why?

(Basically i'm trying to work out what attributes you guys think you need for these two games and hopefully work out which one i should be playing).

id like to think i can play anything, but i tend towards 10 seater stts, and i used to like multi tables up to 200 players.
Not to good at the tables but i can compete. I just have to be carefull becuase il loose my whole stack as i tilt.

Personally im a better tourney player (live tourneys at that lol). I do ok at the cash games live/online but usually only play limit, and that is a different style of play all together.

My style of play usually tends to lean toward tight aggresive early with a swing to aggresive later on when the blinds are to a point that you better have the cards or fold.

Also guess i like the competition that you get in a tourney versus a table of 6 or ten in a ring game.

All depends on what you are looking for.... Tournaments are basically jackpots small wager to win a lot.... Cash or rings have much more consistent income... Very true the 2 require different skill sets and the vast majority of players can't switch gears back and forth well enough to make money at both.
