Most players mix things up and try to be deceptive. Others, not so much. Starting a game where the betting seems to be a tad out of line can be daunting, unless you have good notes on the other players. Here's a real note that I have taken on a particular Omaha player:

"Maniac - really, really aggressive player in OMH with just about any four. Loses a lot by overbetting with cr-p. Checks on the flop the odd time he actually hits a hand. Otherwise bets like a wildman!!"

twice in the same tournament meant to do you in chips with a huge and very weak hands boat I took all my chips raging

For the really hyper bad players I somtimes just put s.e.n in the notes.
