Your Favourite Poker Player

Who is your favourite poker player? This can be one of the big-shots we see on TV or maybe someone you play with regularly online or in your local poker room. Why do you like them?

It's pretty hard to warm to any of the pros who appear on TV. Most of them seem gobby and big-headed.

I don't much like Chris Ferguson's image with the cowboy hat and shades but he seems an OK guy at the table and when he's interviewed.

Gus Hansen and Patrik Antonius also don't appear too full of themselves.

And Daniel Negreanu and Erick Lindgren come across well.

Barry Greenstein scores top marks in my book for being a talented player and giving a fair chunk of his winnings to charity.

The players I like to watch play are Sammy Farha and Marcel Luske. I just like how funny, cool and interesting they are. I enjoy their table demeanor.

But my favorite player is probably Daniel Negreanu. That's who I'd like to play like some day. He really reads the table and situation well and seems to be highly skilled in both cash and tournament play.

My favorite player, hands down, is Phil Laak. He doesn't act snobby like many pros can ie. Phil Helmuth. He is extremely talented, and intelligent, and always seems to has fun. I love the way he plays, and when he turns into the unabomber.

My favorite poker player is probably Dwan. He's one heck of a talented player, respected amongst many of the top pros. He's been so dominant on this season of HSP and its incredible to see what he has already accomplished in the poker world at his age.

Yeah, I like Dwan too. He's a kind of baby-faced assassin.

i really like negreanu, he seems like a fun guy to be at the table with

Tom Dwan doesn't do it for me. When he starts winning bracelets I'll take him more seriously. As for now he's just one of the kids most likely to burn out.

My favorite is Daniel Negreanu. I really like the way he plays.

Doyle of course. I also dig Daniel. He kinda reminds me of Edward Norton (Fight Club, the good "Hulk"). If they ever make a movie about him I think Ed should play that part.

I like hellmuth. He is a cheeky git lol.

Also he makes some incredible laydowns!

Eli Elezra always seems like he's having a good time and he's not afraid to splash around in pots.

John Juanda seems to play the game with a smile - might be because stats show he's pocketed $9m in tournament winnings.

i gotta go with daniel negreanu on this one...he makes some of the sickest reads in poker.. Its really fun to watch him play.. He understands the fundamentals as well as anyone else and he analyzes plays like no others. He explains poker very well.. by far the best poker player in the world at the moment.

If it could be anyone i would say hands down stuey the kid ungar. He was way ahead of his time with his super aggressive style that u can now see in some of the top pros. His crazy ability to read people hands. I would love to be able play some what like him. I strive to have that fearlessness he had and the table presence he was able to demand. Its just a sad that he went out the way he did

for me its daniel negreanu. ive read one of his books and just love the way he holds himself on the felt. his personality is class act

He is probably by far my most favorite player ever.

Yea good shout with Dan Harrington, Its just because not many people see him play but he has always been there. Great great tournament player.

I have to say that I like a few players don't really have a favourite so I will say who I like and why.

Doyle Brunson-Man this dude is just cool. Been there seen it all. Has the second highest number of wsop bracelets. Plus he says all in better than any other player with his Texan accent. Plus I never watch HSP if he is not playing I know its sad but its just not the same.

Daniel Negreanu-Great player really cool to watch with his great reading. More often than not he is perfectly right, which is just insane reading skills. Plus he is a good tournament and cash game player.

Sammy Farha- When this dude is on it, he can really play well. No one dares to mess with him when he is raking in the chips.

Oh and me-Superb player he is all three rolled into one.......................Erm I wish haha!
