Basically, I'm a winning player, but I feel compulsive about playing, which leads me to play for much longer sessions than I originally planned. I'll tell myself I'm going to play for an hour, and then 5 hours go by. Especially when I am down money, I keep playing until I get even or just have a slight loss for the session. But I don't spew countless buy-in after buy in and I don't jump up in stakes to get money back quickly. can you be addicted to poker as a winner?

Pretty sure you can be addicted as both a losing and winning player. That's why they have gamblers anonymous.

Poker can be addicting as a winning player and losing player. Of course there is different problems between the two. A losing player usually keep losing looking for that next win and this usually were the problem starts.

Because I think that to be addicted and would have to be a person who does not go out or who prefers to play poker to do other activities such as eating, bathing and things like that, I think it would already be seen as a problem but otherwise I believe That not and also if you enter an MTT volley it is clear that you will have to take your time to be among the winning positions. It's my opinion bye...

Sure you can. If you're playing compulsively and you're not in control of when you do or don't play, and you need to play to function, that would qualify as addictive behavior regardless of your winrate. I wouldn't worry about it unless you're damaging your relationships with friends and family or feel like you're missing other opportunities in life that you'd rather prefer, or losing your house and car etc.

I play poker every day too, I'm married and I have two kids. I've had bad times playing poker, the famous "bad run" .. but it's all part of the game. Every poker player who wants to be taken seriously needs a lot to study the essence concepts. The first one is bankroll management.
