Playing a game every day doesn't make you addicted, but what does?
I play a lot of poker and have fun with it, I am socially active and I have a job, when on holiday I don't think about poker a lot, and I don't play at all. But when being at home, I have the change, I do play, doe it make me addicted, I don't think so, but what does?

Playing every day doesn't make you an addict yet. It's starting to be a problem when the game starts to take control of your life. It's okay to play every day if that doesn't have a bad impact on other things. It becomes an addiction when you start to ignore other people, family members, work, hygiene, sleep, chores around the house etc. or spend money that you should save for everyday living. Or when losing/winning affects your mood towards everything else. Not being able to quit is also a sign of a not-so-healthy habit. It's okay as long as you are able to put poker aside when it's time to do that, just like you said you did when you were on a holiday.

Addiction might be something that people don't even realize themselves if it gets bad so if other people are starting to tell you that they think you are addicted, then you should probably have a closer look at yourself and your way of playing. However, I don't think you fall into that category based on your post but those things are definitely something to think about for every player out there, including me.

Does playing so much poker have a negative effect on your life? Are you losing money, sleep, or time with family/friends? Are chores pilling up because you are neglecting your responsibilities because you'd rather play? Can you stick to your plans to only play a certain amount of time each day or week, or do you constantly find yourself overindulging? If you answer yes to most of these questions then you probably have an addiction.

As long as you win poker, you are an independent and successful person. It depends on you when you are called a poker player or a person who depends on the games

Addiction is a vague concept. You can lose all the money? If not, then it's not an addiction.

many people are reckless, especially if we speak about playing cards. but this is not a problem, everyone has the right to do so. It is quite another matter if people live only poker and talk about it always and everywhere. it becomes terrible , it is simply impossible to be with such people, because they are limited only by this.our life is so interesting that it's just stupid to be limited of poker only. if you play and enjoy it it's wonderful, but do not forget to talk with people and be interested in something else.

playing every day does not make you addicted ... but what makes you addicted are the bets if you do not control that you may become a ludopata

I'm not addicted to playing poker! LOL..... I suppose when you really get down to it, there must be some element of addiction. This portrays itself not in the fact that I can't live without poker, I pretty much have done over the last four months or so, but get very disappointed when a planned time to play poker gets disrupted. Not sure if that plays out as an addiction or just frustration. The main thing is to enjoy when you play. If you're not enjoying it then you shouldn't be playing. Most important is NOT to chase your losses. Easier said than done, but have some discipline and control yourself.

I play a long time in poker every day and even when at work and in transport, but when you need to do other things around the house or something else, I debug poker in the background and when there is free time I start playing poker again, I consider myself not much dependent on the game

I don't play every day, thereby giving yourself a break and not to cause dependency and get pleasure from a good game

I am so addicted to poker!! I have been playing online for 12 years. Did great on WPT (ClubUBT) when they first started which set me up with a decent bankroll. Now it is so hard to grind it out to even make a buck with these new sites. Loved playing on Pacific which I think became 888 back when they allowed US players. I played mostly the 6 person $6.60 which they paid 3 spots. Easy to make money in those, just sat back and watched the bad players take each other out. I really don't trust any of the pay sites since it is not regulated. Too easy to rig, play bots, etc. Wish I lived in NJ so I could play on PokerStars!!

I enjoy playing poker, and do spend a lot of time on it. I play it at home, sometimes when visiting relatives, when my partner is watching tv, in bed. My partner says I'm addicted and we've argued over it, but I don't agree with her. I haven't spent any money on it, I still get stuff done around the house, and eat. If I wasn't playing poker I would be on my PlayStation, mobile games ect. so you me it feels like another game
