I was wondering are there any professional poker players on this board? By Pro, I mean you earn a living playing poker. I for one is an amateur. If you don't mind answering, how much do you make from playing poker each year?

I'm a student and make some on the side with playing poker, but it's mostly for fun. Been playing online for some over half a year now, and my bankroll is now at 2.200 (started from freerolling) so that would work out to be about 4K a year.

I have been playing for 3 years but, only been playing online for about a year. I have found that playing online is allot different than playing live tournamnets, especially if you play the low levels. There are allot of chasers, and calling stations online. Sometimes thats a good thing. My biggest single win was last year. I won $6,000+ in a $3 re-buy at poker stars. I baught in for $6, and did a $3 add on during the first break. I started my cash game bank roll with $100. I have never been below that. I am consistently making an extra $100 - $300 per week. I don't feel I am pro. status yet.

I put down PRO, because professionals make money. At one time, I was retired and was bringing home about $100/month. I was called back to my old job, and neteller made me take a 9 month break from poker, so now I am just getting back into the swing. Right now my income is negative as I fool around with different things, but you didn't have ex-pro as a choice! :icon_porc

I put student because whether you're a newbie or a pro, there's always something more to learn. The more I learn, the more I realise there is to learn...if that makes sense.
Right now I'm not even a consistant winner, although I am improving:D .

agree with the above

Just as kcanuck stated, constantly learning, and with so many players you have to switch it up occasionally, hence learning new moves and strategies.
thanks~july
