When players try to get cute and bet exactly what a player has to put them all in (in live) tournaments, this is waht can happen. Although I 100% disagree with the ruling because it goes against their rules, if he had just said I'm all in then there is no question as to the bet or chips another player had.

Terrible ruling. Go's against the fairness ethic that I see more TD's rule in.

It's obvious the player with A10 was using the ruling to their advantage when making this play.

Terrible ruling. It goes against rules as stated, the TD is a jerk.

Edit: Thought about this a bit more and Jacky should've won the hand without the TD needing to be called down. Here is why:

Jacky asked how much opponent had. Opponent said, '50K'. Jacky bets 50K. Opponent shoves all their chips in and says 'I call.' Opponent is calling the initial 50K bet by Jacky, not shoving all-in. Thus the 2.5K extra doesn't matter. Opponent keeps that and Jacky wins.

On top of that, the opponent did 2 actions with shoving in all their chips and then calling. The dealer should've taken note of that and said it was an all in and then given Jacky the correct count. Unless she just assumed it was 50K...

Stupid. stupid. stupid.

Holy hell, I would be SUPER angry. Throw in the fact that the rules say nothing about it being a "dead hand" and you have a case for some serious anger.

I do however agree that he should have just said all-in. Even if he has to physically push all of his chips in, it wouldn't exactly be that big a hardship for a pot that large.

Besides, betting exactly what your opponent has left just rubs in your chip lead. Maybe he could have said, "I'll bet the rest of your stack." or something to that effect.

That's stupid.

Good breakdown philthy. Now if only the people actually running the damn tourney were that smart. Or logical. Or had a simple grasp of the game....
