Okay, this is probably an unfair question because field sizes have increased over the years, but I still want to ask anyway.

What is the most impressive accomplishment in Main Event history?

Mark Newhouse making consecutive Main Event Final Tables given the huge field sizes?
Dan Harrington making consecutive Main Event Final Tables in 2003 and 2004? (No small feat considering it's tougher for an older person to play that much poker on a daily basis).
Stu Ungar winning 3 Main Event titles.
Johnny Chan winning 2 straight Main Event titles then finishing second the year after?
Greg Raymer winning in 2004 and then his deep run the year after?
Something else I haven't mentioned above? (Surely there has to be).

I can't wait for the Final Table. I have no idea if there will be a live stream of it (I assume there will be - really hope there is because I'll definitely watch it).

I think it is Newhouse, because good old Action Dan had smaller fields, at least no 6000+ tourneys, but it is also luck :)

(I also heard Raymer won tons of Heartland tourneys in a row or something...)

I also think mark has the greatest accomplishment to date. Current Field very large, much more aggressive and studied, several new strategies, tells, he probably managed to reach the top part of the technically and psychologically to get back to back.

What about Ronnie Bardah? Holds the record for most consecutive main event cashes(5) 2010-2014. I doubt this will ever happen again.

Id say newhouse. I would like to be any one of those guys tho. Maybe we will all get a chance to play in a main event. It's on my bucket list.

This is impressive for sure but he doesn't seem an overly accomplished player.

If he does it again next year though, I may retract that statement!

Johnny Chan then Ungar. Despite the field sizes those were some great accomplishment. I think the next to be added to that list is Dan Coleman..

I have to go with Johnny Chan. Winning any event, much less the main event, twice in a row is impressive. Just missing a three-peat is just amazing.
