wsop main event starts tomorow!! I can't wait.

Who do you guys want to win? I have to say I am pulling for Phil Helmuth to get #14. I know he can be an ass sometimes, well a lot of the time, but I just think it would be exiting, and very entertaining watching him blow up lol.

So who do you want to see on the final table/ or with the bracelet?

Its such a lottery over 6500 runners i think it will be another unkown player taking the bracelet. Somebody told me that you need about 10 coinflips to go in your favout to stand any chance.

I'm pulling for a skilled player like a Greg Merson or a Pius Heinz, tired of these donks and fishes stealing first prize.

It has been awhile since a high profile professional has won...would like to see that happen but the odds favor an unknown...50x more of those at least...

I think if you think skilled players are entitled to get bracelets every ME you just don't know how tournament poker works very well.

Long time in which leading figures of poker are half hidden! Always ends up being a surprise winner of the main event.

Yes, they do. This year they will show the APAC Main Event (where DN won it) sometime this month and the WSOP National Championship. Then the Main Event from day 3. It might just be 2 hours every Tuesday. I know the Main Event final table will be shown on a 15 min delay with hole cards so that will be exciting.

Why do people want a well known player winning?

It's much more beneficial for the poker community if a fish wins.

Where have you been watching poker?

If I'm not mistaken; greg merson won last year and the year before that, Heinz..

Id love to see some hard numbers on why this would be true.

Please to not refer to what happened in 2003...that was a lifetime ago in poker boom terms/.

I don't think it matters MUCH either way...

My PERSONAL PREFERENCE is for Ivey just bink this....or Juanda or Cunningham or someone like that.

I like players who play all the games and have stood the test of time.

For the same reason they cuss fish out for their shitty play when they get sucked out on. People's brains can't really process just how abnormal poker is as a "sport."

Doesn't seem like women are really making the progress I assumed they would by this point.

Women, GENERALLY, are not huge risk takers, so it isn't entirely surprising they wouldn't want to get involved in a hobby where losing thousands of dollars is pretty much par for the course.

This is also one of the underlying reasons women make less in a professional setting often times than men. Ive seen men DEMAND a higher salary or threaten quitting. I have yet to see a women do that.

I have had it out with 2 bosses over salary...and eventually walked away from one of them over salary/hours. You have to be willing to walk away to negotiate hard.

Ivey is my favorite but i would really like watching Juanda win especially if he won it with trips.

There are soooo many great nlhe players who are playing in WSOP this year... too many for me to list for who I'd like to see on the Final table this year.
I think an ideal table would be one with a few of the older (tv-known) pros (ie. Ivey, Juanda) a couple of phenoms (ie. Tom Dwan, Isildur1), some long-time internet Tourney greats (ie. JohnnyBax & gboro), maybe a legend like Doyle himself, a woman (Selbst perhaps?) & of course 'Helmuth' as the final table bubble boy.

I think alot of members don't realize that alot of the players who are making final tables (or running deep) at WSOP actually are well-known in the poker community but just don't have the tv exposure that many others received a few years back.

Here is one to watch, Vincent Maglio. He just took 2nd in event #56 this year. He cashed last year, something like 225th place. He is 23 years old and a beast. Been playing for 5 years and made a ton of money.

But a lot of the women who do play poker don't fit your description at all. Women are still a very small percentage of the field - that is why women are not winning the World Series.

I want one if the three people I have a stake in to win it lol.
