Who do you guys like for the winner and why? you think chip stack matters this year?.....If so will the chip leader take home the bracelet..

Maybe we should have some type of contest to see who can predict the order of the wsop Final table winners the closest and give them some type of prize? Whad do ya think???

Has anyone on cardschat ever played at the WSOP before or plan to in the future?:):):):):):):)

I don't like Craig Marquis' play. He is too agressive and can be wreckless at times. For example, going all in with AQ after raise and a call before him. What is he thinking the others have? The table was playing extremely tight because the next player out just misses the final table.

He got the suckouts of suckouts to make it to the final table.

Personally I like the current chip leader, he has nothing to lose and has been playing solid poker for the entire event.

Based on what they've shown I rate Dennis Phillips - dunno if he'll win, but he should be on for at least a top three finish. He seems to have a knack for extracting money from people when he's got a hand.

Kelly Kim I expect to finish in the bottom three, he's made it pretty obvious he's more interested in payout jumps than he is in winning the whole thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that, per se.

I think much the same goes for Suharto - he's got five times as many chips though, I look for him to be the Tuan Lam of this year's final table. Exactly how far he gets will probably be decided on the outcome of a 60-40 shove.

I think Rheem will either go out early or make it to the top three, with an emphasis on going out early. Same goes for Demidov, I probably reverse the emphasis though - he's starting with enough chips that he'll probably make it to the end.

So after all that rambling... I'm picking Phillips v Eastgate heads up, and Eastgate to take it down. Don't ask me why, I just figure it's as good a guess as any :p

i concur. at least 3 of these guys are so aggressive, it could blow up in their face. dennis phillips has been gettin chips outta people when he gets a hand and he has been friggin card rack. phillips vs eastgate sounds more than likely, though i do like suharto as well.

Dennis Phillips seems like the one to beat. The fact he has the chip lead is gravy. Chino Rheem could win, if he'd just stay away from marginal hands that get him in trouble. Darus Suharto is the dark horse, but could pull it off. He seems quiet and reserved, but a tough player. I look for the final two to be Phillips and Suharto.

The problem with picking a winner for me this year is the stupid break that the WSOP put into the thing so's they can get their TV coverage the way they want it.

Everybody is coming in cold. With no prior roll to count on.

If someone's rush had just started when they broke. Well.... that's that.

All that said. My pick is Phillips, with Rheem getting a strong maybe. That's if he (Rheem) can hit early on and get enough duckets to compete. If he does, I look for him to rule the table.

My pick is Dennis Phillips. I know he got a lot of good cards to be able to get the chips to be the Chip Leader. I really hope his streak continues. I do agree that it would really suck having to wait 4 months to finish out the tourney. Besides... Im from St. Louis as well. Go Dennis. (I wonder if he will still wear his Cardinals Hat for the final table?)

Its Dennis Phillips or Chino Rheem for me.

Personally i'd prefer to see Rheem win it; he's made some great reads and plays and has somehow managed to get so far with a run of bad luck and bda beats.

Dennis Philips seems like a solid player too, but it should interesting to see whether he can hold onto that chip lead or whether it won't be long before he starts leaking chips.

Should be an interesting final table.

My pick is Ivan Demidov because he has a lot of chips and has been making the right moves at the right time.

WSOP Maine Event winner

I like Dennis Phillips, he appears to be in control at all times. He also looks like he is able to get good reads on the other players. If Dennis falters, then I like the young gun Craig Marquis. If he hits a few hands early he could be a force to be dealt with.:)

i do like suharto as well.

Way too big a nit to go all the way, IMO - he was playing way scared in the leadup to the final table and making some uber-tight laydowns (going from memory of the PokerNews hand for hand coverage, not just what they've shown on ESPN). He just reeks of someone who's trying to move up the payout ladder.

Like I said, nothing wrong with that. It just doesn't usually spell "winner".

I liked him too, he made a great read on Chino, and then Chino sucked out and was kind of a dick about it, which makes me not want to see Chino win.

I also like Dennis Phillips to win, I didn't see him make one mistake while playing..

I am not sure who is going to win, but I am praying for Rheem. If he wins that is $900 + dollars in my bankroll on stars. So for that reason and that reason only I am keeping my toes and fingers crossed and sitting on edge when this thing plays out. I will be watching on pokerstars tv and keeping my eyes glued to it. I think I better get a port a potty and a waterhose to hook up to the sink.

Of course, that could all change once the final table comes. I could definitely see him just doing it to make the final table then totally switching gears, especially with the large time interval between most of the tournament and the final table.

I think the biggest wildcard at the table is Scott Montgomery. We didn't see as much of him leading up to the final nine as the others, but anyone willing to reraise all in with no hand, draw, or fold equity is either really brave or really reckless. Probably some combination of the two. Either he's one of the first two out or he's playing head-ups for the title, I'm not sure which.

Phillips will be the one to beat early on. He difinitely won't go from chip leader to first The question is whether he'll be able to shift gears when it gets short-handed. If he's able to make that adjustment, then he at least makes it to the final three. If Kelly Kim can double up early on, though, he's my pick to win it. Really good player who justs a coinflip to go his way early on to give him some breathing room.
