wsop 2013 main event

well.i thought i was a relatively average poker player but watching the main event $10k buy in....I am surprised at the craaaaap play of some of the players.
There are less than 400 left out of over 6ooo entrants.
I saw AA raise and K6 call.A flop of 862 and K6 went all in.....to be eliminated.
What is he thinking....raiser has AK ??
I see the most stupid raises and calls...amateurs and so called pro's.
Perhaps that is why I am watching them!!!
I must be the worst player ever.

The game is a lot harder when you cannot see all the cards that are in play in a certain hand.

With your example given above, it's one thing to try and make a move on someone compared to donk calling your stack off with a lesser hand. Keep in mind we're watching single hands at specific tables the cameras were at out of hundreds of tables dealing tons of hands over the course of many days. Chances are, someone had a read on another, tried to make a move, and it bit them in the butt. We've all been in that situation at the felt before, maybe just not at the wsop.

Poker requires you to put people in situations where they're not sure on how to act. Maybe that guy felt that was the right move for that situation or his previous reads. If he calls all his chips off with that hand, you're absolutely right, he's a moron. But if he's making a play, I'm not against making plays, even the plays that myself wouldn't make.

I was going to stop there, but I recalled a time I was in a local tourny, and ended up 3 betting all in on a dangerous board against another guy. He had me covered. I got him to fold his pocket K's, and I didn't even have a draw. I recall Ivey saying something along the lines of "I don't take into consideration the amount of money I play for. I can't let that effect my game." Again, if I would have played in the WSOP, I can assure you that I wouldn't make that play there. But that's why Ivey is a pro, and I am not
